This is a short list that I'll be trying to keep up to date of issues we are seeing, and how you can resolve them. It's still a work in progress and we'll be adding new information as we go.

I'll seperate each category of issue in a spoiler, and you can click the spoiler to show the issues and fixes in that category.

Launching LSPDFR and going on duty

RAGEPluginHook / LSPDFR causes GTA to crash to desktop

In the first instance of this bug, we encourage you to start GTA5 without RAGEPluginHook to see if your game still loads. A lot of times the crashing is caused by a faulty installation of a vehicle/data file modification.

Make sure you are using the latest version of GTA5. We've seen older versions will just crash with RAGEPluginHook, whilst LSPDFR and RAGEPluginHook are only compatible with the latest version of GTA5.

Pirated copies of GTA V will simply not work.

Some users are reporting that disabling their anti-virus software (namely Avast) seems to fix the issue.

LSPDFR takes too long to load and I get a black screen, or RAGEPluginHook stops it from loading (terminated because it caused the game to freeze)

On certain systems, LSPDFR can take too long to load. If you're seeing this issue, LSPDFR will hang with a perpetual black screen and there will be an error message on the bottom left of the screen. Your log may also mention something along the lines of 'Warning! Plugin "LSPDFR First Response" was terminated because it caused the game to freeze'

Fix

  1. Open the RAGEPluginHook settings menu (hold down SHIFT immediately after clicking RPH)

  2. Increase 'Plugin timeout threshold' to a higher value (e.g. 60000)

  3. Save and Launch

LSPDFR crashes when I load with an 'STATUS_INVALID_PARAMETER_1: Invalid entry point. (Code: 87)' or EasyHook error in my log file (older versions)

This error is caused by trying to use LSPDFR with an older version of GTA.

Fix

You'll have to use the latest version of GTA.

LSPDFR crashes when I load/reload with a 'System.IndexOutOfRangeException' in my log file (older versions)

This issue is caused by using a preset character on your last play. The issue was introduced in 0.4.2. The issue is fixed in 0.4.3 and above.

LSPDFR crashes when I go on duty

This issue is mostly caused by plugins.

We recommend if you're constantly experiencing this, removing all plugins and checking if that resolves the issue.

I can't go on duty with 'ForceDuty' console command and it's the first time I'm playing LSPDFR 0.4

LSPDFR 0.4 is centered around our character system, and you'll need to create a character and go on duty once before you can ForceDuty. You only need to do this once, after which LSPDFR saves the character data for future reloads.

Fix

  • You'll have to go on duty at least once either by going to a police department and following the prompts, or by going to the character selection menu in the Pause Menu and either creating a character or selecting a preset character.

LSPDFR crashes on start with an SystemAccessViolation in the log and my OS language is set to Turkish (older versions)

We're investigating crashes when your OS is set to Turkish. We've seen a user successfully workaround the bug by setting your OS language to English.

Edit: This issue was fixed in 0.4.1.

LSPDFR crashes on start and my log file mentions something to do with a System.ValueTuple

LSPDFR requires .NET Framework 4.7.2.

For some users, this issue is only fixed by installing the latest version of Windows 10.

For others, installing the .NET Framework 4.7.2 runtime has fixed this for them.

LSPDFR's Pause Menu doesn't work -- only the 'Stats' menu is shown

Please make sure you do not have the 'debug1' option selected in RAGEPluginHook's settings menu (in Advanced Settings).

For further issues, please make a thread.

Character System

My police officers don't have badges or holsters/LSPDFR only has one police outfit

To make sure LSPDFR works on every system, we only will show character outfits which are available on a vanilla (unmodified game).

Please see our modding guide in the Wiki to find out how to add your own agencies, outfits and more.

If you're using EUP, you can also try this mod which will add EUP agencies and outfits to LSPDFR.

@Sam has also created a simple modification which enhances the LSPD outfits.  This is perfect if you do not use EUP: https://www.lcpdfr.com/files/file/22116-lspd-character-outfits/

LSPDFR Sync

LSPDFR Character doesn't show on the website

If you created your character before logging into LSPDFR Sync, LSPDFR doesn't automatically assume you want to sync it.

Fix

  1. Go to the Character Selection screen (Pause Menu > LSPDFR > Character Selection Screen)

  2. The Sync status of each character will be shown. To sync a non-synced character, use the Spacebar and follow the instructions.

I can't connect to the LSPDFR Sync service

If you see an error showing that 'LSPDFR Sync is unavailable. Check your connection.' it means LSPDFR was not able to connect to our servers.

Certain firewalls can block outgoing connections. Ensure that your firewall allows UDP traffic on port 5454.

Please note that certain services (like VPNs, and mobile carriers) can block non-standard UDP traffic entirely.

We have seen an edgecase during testing where the connection can fail on very slow or latent Internet connections. So if you have tried all of the above, stay tuned for a fix in the next release.

I can sync my character, but activity does not show

Some users have reported their activity feeds only start populating after a game restart. In the first instance of this bug, this is something you may want to try.

Additionally -- we are seeing issues with users sending activity items which are significantly in the future or the past, and we don't accept activity items which are in the future or past.

Please ensure your system time is correct. We'll be introducing our own mechanism to deal with clients with an out-of-sync clock in a future release.

Controls

Problems when using a PS4 Controller

Only Xbox controllers are officially supported by Grand Theft Auto V and LSPDFR and all of the controls for LSPDFR are based on Xbox ones.  If you are using a PS4 controller, you may notice that some controls (like arresting) do not work.  You can try installing DS4Windows which will trick the game into thinking that you are using an Xbox controller: http://ds4windows.com/

Other Plugins and Mods

Crashes whilst using LSPDFR/RPH in conjunction to Scripthook V .NET (Event Viewer shows a c00000fd Error)

Scripthook V .NET has issues which can cause seemingly random crashes. One of our developers has reported this to the Scripthook V .NET team. If you experience this issue, try removing Scripthook V .NET.

An LSPDFR update has been released and now my plugins don't work

Certain authors decide to restrict what versions of LSPDFR their LSPDFR plugins will work for. This is not needed in general as we strive to keep API compatibility between minor releases.

This isn't an LSPDFR issue, and instead, you should complain to the author of the mod that has the check.

Other Issues

The game world starts to disappear when I go on duty or load LSPDFR

We've noticed that some people are having issues with world textures disappearing when LSPDFR is loaded.  See below for a possible solution:

Set Main.PreloadAllModels to false in the lspdfr.ini file.

More information on how to do this can be found here: https://www.lcpdfr.com/wiki/lspdfr/04/features/settings/

Due to an issue detecting the Visual Studio 2015 Redistributable, RPH does not start on arm64 systems/VMs (e.g. Macs with VMware/Parallels)

Microsoft has changed how VC++ runtimes are referred to in the registry in ARM64 systems.

Whilst RPH and LSPDFR do not support Arm64 systems, it is possible to workaround this with a registry tweak. Import the following reg file.

rph_vs2015_fix.zip

You will also get messages from RPH about other dependencies not being a valid x64 image, you should be able to press 'Continue' to bypass these.
Please also make sure you have the required 2015 redist by running:

winget install Microsoft.VCRedist.2015+.x64

winget install Microsoft.VCRedist.2015+.x86 --force

in Command Prompt.

The RPH console is blank (F4 menu does not display), and I have a 4xxx or 5xxx series NVIDIA card

You will need to disable NVIDIA Smooth Motion globally, or for GTA V seperately.

You can find instructions on NVIDIA's website for doing that here (set to Off instead of On):
https://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/5621/~/enabling-smooth-motion-in-nvidia-app

If you're having issues with texture loss while using LSPDFR and other mods (mainly modded vehicles), you can try the following:

Set Main.PreloadAllModels to false in the lspdfr.ini file.

More information on how to do this can be found here: https://www.lcpdfr.com/wiki/lspdfr/04/features/settings/
