Would Look something like this, under the gallery images maybe. Having it also toggleable the same way we can with the Sections.   Screenshot_4.png.a481fb4af6b5e59a34d78c7b04e976f7.png

It would add some liveliness to the site in my opinion as well

I say no thanks, it's just cluttery and a nightmare to moderate and administrate. We had it up for discussion "back in my days" and it wasn't something that we'd want on the site.

This.  Shoutboxes only work on certain sites and in certain situations.  LCPDFR is one of those situations where it would not work out at all.  Besides, most of the members already use Discord and have servers with their friends.

I personally find them a bit of an unnecessary eyesore -- I haven't seen one that looks particularly nice on a forum.

I get that it does provide a sense of 'community spirit' though. We are potentially thinking about opening our private Discord server up to the public at some point, which I think people would prefer rather than a shoutbox.

I used to be part of a previous community that had a shoutbox. While it did add something to read while browsing the site, it was also filled with a level of toxicity that was beyond bad. Shoutboxes, in my opinion, are a gamble. They can either be really good or really bad. That is all from me.
