We have a few updates that I thought would be a good time to share.

 

Trending System

The eagle eyed among you may have noticed we've added a new 'Trending' section to the download portal, at the bottom right.

We're still in the middle of finalising and designing the system, but we're so excited about it we've made a rudimentary version live.

The system will eventually be expanded to be available to every category, but right now operates from the main GTA5 Mods feed. 

 

The system considers a few important factors to decide whether to make a file trend or not. The process is automatic and operates without intervention from staff.

 

Deactivation

We've added self-service account deactivation. This is available from the User Control Panel. This will allow you to close your account, as well as remove any files you've uploaded. Your profile will also be removed from public view.

 

Please note, there is no self-service reactivation as of yet. To reactivate your account, you'll have to contact us externally from the site. We will only consider reactivation requests after a two-week cooling down period.

 

Clarifying our File Reporting policies

@willpv23 has published a new guideline on reporting files. Before you report a file, make sure to read it. We'll be updating our reporting form shortly to make this clear.

As a reminder, you can view the status of your reports from our Support Dashboard.

Would it be possible to add a slot in the file descriptions for vehicle downloads that the Modder could put what vehicle slot it is optimized for and then have that be a searchable item so if your not good at editing all the sub files, you could search for something already optimized for that slot?

Authors say vehicles are optimized for 'x' slot, but in reality, they work in any and all slots.  You might have to edit the vehicles.meta to change the handlingid, but it works fine.  I have a crap ton of standalone vehicles, some of which were optimized for 'police3', yet are completely standalone/add-on and work perfect.

my suggestion would be in the downloads section for vehicles maybe have them categorized by brands like dodge ford and chevy making it more easy for you ti find what you want for your fleet.

A very minor update that I didn't think needed it's own thread; you can now hide accidentally uploaded gallery images and remove albums.

To hide an album, press 'Manage album' on the album page, then choose Hide.

To hide an image, press the settings cog at the top right of the image, then choose Hide.
