Couprt or Failed Archive on Download

Featured Replies

i notice a small percentage of people who download my files, have issues extracting he winrar, below is the report by the user.

this only happens on LSPDFR and leads users to falsely think the file is corrupt or contains a virus. The only alternative is to upload a .zip file as a alternative, but that always triggers a manual file review. Something on LSPDFR is specifically causing this error or corrupting the winrar files. i don't have a clue, and not sure how to remedy the issue without directing people to GTA5 MOds to Download the same files.

in addition other users have reported having to use 7zip to unzip the files as a fix, i use winrar professional to create all my archives, and this error messages give a false representation and i had to defend my self against inaccurate claims that my files contain viruses and they do not.

I'd be willing to bet it's a version incompatibility issue since my version of winrar is quite old. However, this is the first time I've ever had an issue opening a rar file with it so I'm rather surprised it hasn't come up before. I will download a newer version of winrar later today or tomorrow and report back.

It opens fine for me in WinRAR. A file test reveals no errors.

I did notice the archive is using RAR5, so if people had an older version of WinRAR there potentially could be problems.

Thank you cyan

So yes, it is a compatibility issue with older versions of WinRar. Works fine with 5.50

btw, I was using version 4.x so I'm assuming anything < v5 may be an issue.
