I'm willing to bet one of three things.

 

1) This was meant to scare people, but not be an actual shooting.

 

2) The guy was fed up of waiting in line and thought 'I know how to speed this up.'

 

3) Person didn't have enough money, or wasn't happy with the price of something and figured discharging a firearm would be an easy way to just walk out the doors with stolen goods.

Or it could have been an accidental discharge of some sort with no ill-intent, or the result of a previous/current dispute between two or more parties.  Who knows?

This is actually my "local" mall, I live just outside of Middletown. The two injuries were apparently from the glass that the bullet ricocheted off.

SO its quite possible this was an accidental discharge but brings up the topic of why did he have the gun in the first place

Happens, hopefully, everyone is OK.

Update: The man that discharged the firearm turned himself in this morning (or last night) after security footage was released.
