Disable RPH auto-complete?

Featured Replies

Has anybody here done this?  When I try to spawn cars, I will type "Spawn" and as soon as I press space, sometimes, the game will hang and I'll be forced to shut off my computer.  But this doesn't happen every time.  An error I saw once in the logfile seems to indicate this is some kind of an error with trying to load the auto-completion list of car models.  I am using RDE so that may have something to do with it - maybe it's too many for RPH to handle.

In any case, I need to use spawn because of RDE - enhanced native trainer will only spawn certain vehicles by default.  Until I save each vehicle in its menu, I have to have RPH in order to be able to spawn it.

So I'm going to give you some advice. I have no idea how well you know computers so I'll go lowest common denominator and talk like you've never used one before. There's a thing called ALT TAB. Try it out sometime. That way you don't have to restart your PC, and you can just have OpenIV open, and you can just check it there. Also I recommend a mod (I can't find it right now) that adds RDE vehicles to the trainer spawn list.

First thing I tried; didn't work, which is why I had to restart.

I did find a somewhat outrageous solution.  I only used it once so I haven't definitively established cause and effect yet but, here it is:  In LSPDFR.ini, I set LSPDFR to preload all models.  I started the game, then loaded LSPDFR.  It crashed the first time with a similar error.  Upon reloading it, it worked.  I was then able to use RPH spawn command without trouble.  My idea is that I would get LSPDFR to pre-cache them for me, then hope that RPH would be able to piggyback off of that.  It seems to have worked.  I will be trying it again soon.

You're saying ALT TAB doesn't work? It may be due to the fact you are in the RAGE console.

Correct, it didn't work.  Yes, the console was open at the time.  Moderator, sorry for wrong forum - I sincerely did read the forum list and try to pick what seemed to be the best one!

I can confirm my fix works, but I'm not certain that setting LSPDFR to preload models is necessary.  However, I am going to leave it as it seems to be helping to avoid crashes when I ForceDuty.  But either way, it's as if LSPDFR somehow "takes the bullet," like it "absorbs" the crash for you, so that it will crash instead of RPH, and once it has crashed, then RPH will not crash.  Very weird.
