  • I hadn't noticed the fake rivets at first, but I really don't like them. They look dumb and detract from the car.

  • Well people are so touchy in today's world departments can't have "black/white" police cars because they look soooo intimidating ~~~ by the way I'm saying that sarcastically

  • I just think black/white units are just overdone. I prefer departments that come up with their own unique style and flair so they actually differentiate between units from different cities. Like 5-6 o

With the first screenshot, I thought 'maybe that's just the lighting making it look gray.' I really like it, and am glad they didn't choose to go black/white.  Was there a specific reason for the new design, or just time for a change?

Last November, city council passed a motion asking the Toronto Police Services Board to retain the current color scheme of its patrol cars “pending further view.” The motion said “stealth grey” was too militaristic and sent the wrong message to the public.

Since when is stealth gray militaristic?

Weapon steel color perhaps. I don't agree with the Council's reasoning (a cop car ain't supposed to be a rainbow-colored unicorn with pink hearts) but I can see their point.

Me personally likes this Toronto cop car:

That'd be stupid, though.  Next they'll say firetrucks shouldn't be the same color as fire (I know, fires are orange, shut up) because it might scare people about a fire.  You know what that car truly needs?  Big speakers that constantly play "IT'S THE SOUND OF DA POLICE".

Sure, they should be Navy Blue, just like in America :P

Lol, I've seen that before, and actually like it.  All trucks change to this! :P

They say that with the first design the public didn't have a say on what it should look like. I'm also very glad they went with grey instead of black. The font isn't too bad either!

Oh what do you guys think of the decals of the fake nails (or whatever they're supposed to be) on the side? It makes it look armored which some criminals might mistake for real armor.. maybe?

I'll miss the good old red/blue design, it was original compared to all the dark tone/white liveries all over the place.

I'll definitely miss those beautiful blue and red stripes...

Hope Canadian perps have good vision and comprehension, because I missed these at the first glance and then didn't really connect the dots between those things and why it could be considered an armored vehicle :D

Seriously, though, I like the design. But for some strange reason I'll always prefer white liveries over anything else.

I'm still not connecting the dots.  How could you mistake a marked Taurus for an armored military vehicle? Why is it considered a bad thing?  Once the lights/sirens are flipped on it'll be obvious, and again, it's marked!

Nah, I guess what he says is those things may make the car look like it has armored carcass.

I'm not sure though. Local armored patrol cars look like this

It just makes it so it looks armored or thick and bullet proof.

What he said

I now have eye cancer. I'm not sure why, but so many departments with beautiful liveries are changing them to... That. Need I bring up the new Pennsylvania State Police livery?

I just think black/white units are just overdone. I prefer departments that come up with their own unique style and flair so they actually differentiate between units from different cities. Like 5-6 of the major suburbs around me went from having their own designs that made sense for the cities to black/whites. Frankly their cars look boring and are not as inspiring to me to look at. Its the same concept with Fire Trucks really when you see one going buy you want to look and see if they went with their own twist on CFD NYFD or LAFD or if they did something completely different. If everyone literally started doing only 1 setup half the magic of wanting to watch them as they pass by will be gone.

I second this.  I get wanting to make the cars black/white so it's obvious they are police cruisers, but it gets old.  It's why I will rarely use any black/white textures on my LSPD fleet and will just use all white.  Unique designs such as the new Toronto one are amazing!

Different designs are a nice thing to have, especially in a federation, where regions/states/counties maintain certain independence. On the other hand, many liveries hurt my eyes s much it's not even funny, like the new Detroit PD livery. Ohhh Gosh.

On yet another hand (third), many original design solutions are so cool.
