COPS "officer down!" episode

Featured Replies

First, I realise that most of you have seen COPS but I wondered if any of you had seen this particular episode so I thought I should share it.

It shows a Kansas city police officer being shot and transmitting an "officer down" call. What you see next is the fellow officers rush to his aid and the manhunt that follows. The shooter gets a special K9 treatment at the end.

I can only imagine what you feel when you hear a fellow officer screaming "officer down" on the radio.

"Dura lex, sed lex"

I think every one who has seen cops have seen this one its the most common episode played. Its funny i'm watching cops right now and its this episode, its cool to see all the different police officers rush to his aid. Thank god he was only shot in the leg; I just don't like how his FTO officer didn't fire shots back at the guy when he saw it happen.

That officer...never returned to duty....he is suffering from PTSD, and the round shattered the bone. He can never work in law enforcement again....When officer down goes out on the radio....every one drops what they are doing, if it's a traffic ticket, "HAVE NICE DAY! ~hurriedly hands back info runs to squad and takes off running code 3~" all radio traffic except the hunt is shut down....officer down is one signal on the radio you NEVER want to hear and actually the other officer DID fire back

That reminds me of a video i saw befor. a deputy was pulling over a suv for a routine controll. The driver pulled out a gun and shot the deputy.. you could hear him scream on the video...

The K9 really did give that suspect a good punishment... That poor officer, really sad that he could not return to his job.

Since most of you already saw this video like I thought, I'm going to share an older video that isn't that well known. This time it's the other way around, LEO's shooting a civilian.

Please share your opinions on the SWAT tactics, for example if they had better chosen another approach. Although it's from 1996, it still shows the danger of a hot situation where an armed man is willing to injure both himself and others around him. Unfortunately, it didn't end well in this situation.

WARNING: graphic.

It's a shame that he died, but I can understand why they shot him. Sure, you can argue that there was a better way to deal with the man, but maybe they didn't expect him to walk around the side of the house? They could have just flash-banged him and tackled him, but then there is the risk of the officer's being shot.
