I want to use the policeold1 & 2 slots with different cars, like CHP cars for example.

Do I need to make any changes to vehicles.meta or carvariations.meta or handling.meta?  

The cars that I want to replace with doesn't come with different vehicles.meta or handling.meta lines.

No, You dont need any other file, If the vehicle is an ELS vehicle, just install the file in x64e file and patchday3.

So basically this mod adds a line into the carvariations.meta file for the policeold2? And that should be it? 

What about the policeold1 slot? I want to replace it with a Tahoe.

@billiarboy, you only use that if you don't use ELS.

@Dorian138, all you need to do if you use ELS is change the handling, ideally to the same one that the car is designed to replace.
