Here in Hungary, just like the rest of Europe, a simple citizen can't get a firearm. And it's not bad. People defend their property with less lethal things, and criminals also don't have guns, because they can't get any.

Singapore got tough gun laws. Nobody in singapore got Gun .except police, other law enforcement and army.  The relevant government agency pretty much controls it tightly

Taken by some law site

Singapore has one of the toughest gun control laws in the world.  According to the Arms Offences Act, unlawful possession or carrying of firearms is punishable with imprisonment and caning.  Using or attempting to use arms when committing a scheduled offense is punishable with death. The death penalty may also apply to the offender’s accomplices present at the scene of the offense.

Any person proved to be in unlawful possession of more than two firearms will be presumed to be trafficking in arms until the contrary is proved.  Trafficking in arms is punishable with either death or imprisonment for life and with caning.

Possessing any firearms or importing, exporting, manufacturing, repairing, or selling them, requires a license.  Licensing officers have the authority to refuse to issue a license, or to suspend or cancel a license without giving any reason.

That's good for Hungary and Europe, but that's not the case here.

It's a very difficult thing to say really.

Australian's always say "Why can't America just ban guns like us" without even thinking about the question.

1st off, you try taking the guns off the millions of people that have them, and see what happens then (hint, mass riots and general chaos)

2nd, it isn't as simple as just banning them. American and Australian culture is very different, and guns were never really a big part of Australian culture.

Guns are still available in Australia. Farmers can get rifles and shotguns, collectors can get many different types as long as they're not used and club members can get a handgun licence. Concealed/open carry is not a thing and no civilian can get a gun without a reason and it needs to be proved. (EG: club members need to attend a set amount of competitions each year). The only people that carry guns in public are police officers/security ect.

Another point is that while statistically America has really bad gun violence, there are still heaps of good guys with guns. So while it isn't as safe as some other countries, there are ups and downs. (Not saying that this is the answer, its still really bad and you have to accept that.)

Personally, I think that gun violence is a very big issue that needs to be addressed in America. Saying otherwise is just pure ignorance. But its just very hard to do so.

The problem is that people take a complex issue such as violence with firearms, and they believe that it's a simplistic issue where an immediate change of law can be made and the problem will be miraculously solved. It's not that simple for the United States, and anyone that thinks it's a simple issue is ignorant of our history and our culture.

If there was a way to magically collect all of the guns up from all private owners in the US, then I think that that would be great. However, there are so many in circulation at the moment that just banning them overnight probably wouldn't be that effective.

Perhaps a steady increase in controls or limitations is the answer? Certainly proper background checks and stuff like that would help with gun violence, but I very much hope that that's something that's in place already....

Not only would it be ineffective, but it would also be illegal. According to some brief research, most Americans are in favor of background checks and relatively stricter gun laws, but a majority are also against a complete ban.

Wait, countries with less deadly weapons are safer? Weird....

Country with stricter laws and tough government are more safer.

Singapore have always been recognized by the world's as one of the safest country in the world. Where you can go out at night feeling safe too. Because Singapore have low crime rate. However Singaporean always took thing for granted. The Singapore police have this line for public  " low crime doesn't mean no crime"

there is still crime but less

Singaporean have this saying, don't commit crime in singapore. Because you will be caught. You can run but you can't hide. All suspect normally be caught withthin 1-3 day commonly.
