Federal Signal AirEL for GTA V??

Featured Replies

Since we have the ELS for GTA 5. I'm wondering if its now possible for someone to make a Federal Signal AirEL system that is tied in with ELS. I think it would be a really great addition to the game. From what I understand about ELS, it could be used as a curse light function to light the numbers at night with the ability to use a template to let people to make custom numbers.

Would live to hear all your thoughts on this idea.

No, unfortunately this wouldn't work.  ELS cruise lights just make it so certain extras from 1-4 steady burn.  If you did that the extras would flash like the emergency lights.  There are ways of making AirEL with just a light emissive material and a texture, but those ways would restrain the user to having all the same unit numbers on that car since you can't tie it in with say the vehicle template.

I was thinking something like the numbers are blank with black background and the light texture only emits through the blank numbers.

well you would be able to have it tie into els, set it as extra_ten. but you still have the problem of being limited to one unit

Yea that wouldn't work because you still can't map an emissive material to the vehicle template.

That could work, but then wouldn't You have to drive around with lstg 1 always active?

yes, but only be for night patrols to get the numbers illuminated.

Probably still wouldn't work efficiently because you would be able to use extras7-9 since secondary lights turn on at lstg 1. And you would still be limited to only one unit number per car.

I can run curse lights with Lstg 3 active in game and the cruse lights stay steady burn

That would remove one of the extras from 1-4 which could Make it extremely hard to create symmetrical and/or accurate patterns. It would also require the user to manually turn on the cruise lights every time they go into lstg 3 which would cause more confusion than extra steadyburns lights back with default lights.

I agree, But I do think there is a way to make it work, we just need to find it.
