Quote Button in Text Editor

Featured Replies

Could we have a quote button added to the text editor on posts and replies please?

It'll make user's lives a hell of a lot easier when quoting because using the BBCode manually seems to mess up the quote and include things it shouldn't. If we could just highlight the text and click the button in the panel it'd be nice.

There is a button in the text editor already for quotes, assuming I understand you correctly. The editor tools are separated by vertical columns, and immediately following the fifth line, there is a button that resembles quotation marks. Click that.

Quote

I clicked it.

Alternatively, you can highlight text within a previous post and a button will show up saying "Quote this," although I do not have any problems at all with just simply clicking the "Quote" link at the bottom of posts.

I'm not entirely sure if that is what you are referring to.

That is so fricking weird. I swear to god that was not there recently. I literally checked every single button, hovering to read the popup's to make sure I wasn't missing it...

It wasn't, I added it earlier this week but forgot to reply to this topic.

That being said, it is a little useless imo.

If we're talking about the quote button in the editor (as opposed to "quote this"), disagree. If I'm quoting something other than a previous post in that same thread, it's pretty useful.

That's exactly what I was trying to do at the time when I realized it was missing. I then spent ages trying to use manually quote tags and it kept messing up my post.
