Has adding cars changed since the last update?

Featured Replies

Hi all its been awhile since I last played GTA V with LSPDFR and I caught the fever and thought i would play again however i cant seem to get my game to load since the latest update (1.0.877.1). This is what i have done to try and resolve the game crashing while at the loading screen.

1) updated rage hook to the latest version.

2) removed my mod folder and started fresh with a new mod folder and carefully went through the painstaking process of editing .meta files etc.

3) then for a 2nd time started with a anther clean Mod folder and only added one modded police car and ensured i was very careful when editing all relevant .meta files then tested the game and the game would still crash while loading.

When i say loading i mean at the rage hook loading screen where you see the plugins load etc but it never gets as far as the plugins loaded part.

4) when i remove the mods folder completely  the game loads with rage hook and if I play the vanilla version of the game the game also loads.

So i ask myself did Rockstar change something to try and mess with us, i did see a passing comment on anther forum but they didn't elaborate after a google search i couldn't find anything more on the subject.

Now this is i think the problem is, using a Toyota Camry for example, in the read me it says to edit the carvaritaions folder located in

"mods > update.rpf > levels > x64 > dlcpacks > mpchristmas2 > common > data >"

but mine doesnt match up, for me to find the dlcpacks i have to go to

mods> update> X64> dlcpacks > mpchristmas2> dlc> common> data>  (im using the retail version by the way)

does any of this make any sense to you guys? thanks for reading and any help would be greatly appreciated

For what it's worth I had the same experience, the last time I updated (which was a week or two ago), suddenly vehicle mods that were working before were crashing my game each time until I removed them. I was really careful about making my edits (as I've had many previous crashes to carelessness before), but I couldn't get it to work and gave up eventually.

Not sure what the issue could be. But I do think it would be odd that it would change suddenly.

The second path is correct, yes. It always has been, nothing has changed.

Care to elaborate what's wrong, exactly?

I have tried to install the Coroner Speedo and the Coroner Rumpo using carvariations.meta in mpluxe2 and using vehicles.meta in update.rpf, placing the models in alternatively patchday3ng and x64e rpf... it's causing me to crash every time. For whatever reason I managed to get Lt. Caine's remapped police Granger added as police5, but I haven't been able to get any of the other models to work. I had the same problem with Lundy's two LSPD police cars (the old lore-friendly Caprice and Crown Vic clones).

This all happened right after I updated to one of the new versions of GTA released within the past two months or so... I'm not sure. I know how to use XML files and work with them regularly, and I've double-checked my files repeatedly, it looks perfect. Always crashes after "Loading story mode" in the RPH loading screen.

Check your model files, vehicles.meta and if those are good then you might have reached the limit for added cars. You can confirm it by removing a vehicle you've previously added and adding whatever crashed the game instead.
