Well that was an interesting experience.

 

New computer set up & I now have a very vanilla LSPDFR installed. I wish I could have skipped the GTA opening story mode, though. 

 

So far so good with the computer being able to cope with the game.

 

Tonight after work, I'll install my first Australian car & go on duty.

Make sure you're editing it in the right vehicles.meta section. If you're editing it right it should work.

In theory, the bottom of the doors should line up with the platform just like the metro train does. The envelope of the train would be lower & higher. I haven't worked out if a double decker train will fit in Los Santos.

Yeah just when I thought I understood  it all, it turns out that I should have been updating the vehicles.meta in mods\update\update.rpf instead of one in dlcpacks. I've got it working properly now.

Glad you got it working. It took me ages to figure it out... all that time i spent just to change the sheriff SUV to have the sheriff siren and the Highway Patrol vehicles to have the Sheriff SUV siren. 

Just FYI, the only downside to it is that the engine sound goes with it... So if you change the SUV siren to have the Sheriff Cruiser siren... it'll have the engine sound aswell. Not that noticeable however.

Anyone also thought about doing some older vehicles? Such as 70's 80's 90's Commodores and Falcons? The one thing that was missing from GTA IV Australian mods was that all the vehicles were modern, none of them were older.. The oldest vehicle that was made i believe was a BA Falcon. Highway Patrol XB Falcon would actually look good in V.

I don't mind that look but I like the look of our vehicles & liveries over there better. 

 

How American emergency services are set up compared to ours always amazes me. I couldn't imagine the same sort of thing here.

Off topic: Anyone seem to have found pairs of JVC SZ2000's headphones in Australia, or any other god tier bass/sound quality headphone for like no more than like ~$250. Grown out of my Turtlebeaches, I need more bass and better sound quality (not for gaming, I'm fine with TB for gaming, I need something better for wrecking my ear drums with music)  But all the good head phones bar Beats by Dre seem to be exclusive to American sellers..

I don't think it's possible and i'm pretty sure I only need one side of the train's doors working so..

First car mod installed, you guys! I installed Moose's HSV HWP car.

 

Assisted at an arrest by pulling a guy out of the car at Los Santos airport.

 

Managed to install EUP OK. Thought I did the NSW uniform pack done OK but don't know how to get it working.

Hey Menyoo is a great trainer, you can change of the engine sounds of any car you spawn, you can make your police car have a V8 engine sound, the radio comes on however, so if you choose say the picador as your engine sound the engine sounds like a v8, the radio will come on in the hispanic station, go to Menyooo settings and turn the radio off, all emergency lights and sirens still work, you just end up with a v8 sounding Police Car, much more aussie
