Which 1070 should I buy?

Featured Replies

Save a few extra [insert currency of choice's lowest denominator] and get a 1080 instead would be my advice on the scenario. I'm well aware the 1070 is a great card already, but honestly if you're gonna spend that much money on a GPU why not go all out for the better one, it's not that much more expensive (relatively speaking)

Agreed with what Luke said but also think of this, It's a brand new card and you know there are going to be issues with it, I'd hold off a few unless you desperately need a new one.

GTA SA - Graphic Design, Vehicle Modeling, Conversions

GTA IV - Graphic Design

GTA V - Graphic Design and Vehicle Modeling.

I am worried about bottlenecking with my current CPU (i5-3570k), also I don't have as much time to game as much as I used to. I don't want to spend too much and then a few months down the road stop playing and my new GPU just sit there. I think a 1080 for my needs might be a bit overkill, all I play is H1Z1, Arma 3, and GTA V.

Both cards are "future proof". So if you're looking to spend that amount of money on a GPU, especially the two leading GPU's for nVidia now, you might as well get the best one for the sake of it's longevity.

If all you do is play those old games don't bother upgrading, spend your money on something else. My GTX 760 can run GTA V at 60fps quite happily all day long. The only reason I want a 1080 is to run all my other games which suck the life out of my system, plus Battlefield 1 is coming.
