EUP backup mod idea

Featured Replies

While using Emergency Uniforms Pack, an idea struck me- what if we could replace the backup or wanted level police response peds with the multiplayer peds using EUP? that way, every single officer responding would have a unique appearance, making the game much more realistic. I know it's probably impossible due to the game's limits, but we can dream.

I think theoretically it could work. RDE features a Juggernaut which is not a regular model too (I think it's a .rpf just like player models). Though you can't spawn it via LSPDFR because it only allows for customizing the appearance of normal ped models, I don't think it currently works with player peds.

That was my thinking- perhaps using the backup.xml we could specify exactly which combinations of facial details, hair etc. each ped could use as a random chance, so that there would be a pool of appearance options available that the user could customize to their liking. I wonder if the game could actually spawn a lot of these MP peds and randomize them without crashing? it would certainly test the limits of the game engine, but looking at how Online handles it I don't know.

Spawning in characters and randomizing them is no problem, I tried doing a stress test with how many characters I could randomize simultaneously for the EUP script, and it were a lot. So that shouldn't be a bottleneck if and when that idea gets realized.

That sounds good, seeing as most people spawn in a ton of backup (I tried spawning many MP peds, and got to about 30 before it crashed). It would certainly be nice to have backup that isn't made up completely of bald middle-aged LSPD officers. Incidentally, what sort of rules would need to be applied for a script like that? say you spawn in a character that's supposed to be LSSD backup, then the script would spawn the ped with forced upper_003 etc. and with random values for facial details/appearance.

For the face and basic appearance I've set these parameters that can be changed. I did not try creating them with their uniform on, but that's just a single native, so should be easy.
