SkylineGTRFreak is working on a naval ship. It's not related to this callout pack in any way, but rest assured that when it's released I will create some callouts putting it to good use.

It's damned if you do, damned if you don't. Release a mod early in its progress, and people complain that it doesn't have all the features they expected or that it has bugs. Release updates too often

Oh my Cod, I'm Dolphinately very excited for this Callout Pack. I sea everything is coming along nicely. I’m barely keeping my head above water from all the excitement. You got me hooked. On a serious note I'm looking forward to this...

lspdfr plugin or GTA V crashed? find your Rage log in your gta folder, usually found after ragepluginhook.exe and open it, hit Ctrl a, open pastebin.com, select new paste, hit Ctrl v, get the link after you pasted it and supply that with your issue in the specific mod topic, it helps the developer diagnose the problem you may have.

Just to give people a quick update, I am actively working on development. It's going to be a very complex mod, so please understand the slow progress. I have been working on it for a couple hours every night, and longer on weekends.

Currently one callout is complete, and is quite different from anything currently available in the game. It's not directly coastal related, but I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

A second callout is about 60% done. I don't want to give away any spoilers, but that one will blow your mind. (@Kal74 it's a pun!)

Now that a proper police boat is available, I've started working on adding boat traffic stops. This part is working quite well actually, although there are a lot more features I plan to add to make it better. At the moment it can successfully pull over a boater, let your ped get out of the driver's seat without jumping into the ocean, and keeps your boat and the suspect's boat from drifting away from each other during the pullover.

I've also made some progress with helicopter hoist operations, as seen in the gallery. However there is a ton of work left to do to make that reliable, realistic, and to work it into the callouts and features of the mod.

At this time I do not have any kind of release date estimate. Because the ocean has never had much focus in GTA and LSPDFR in particular, there's a lot of work to make this playable, let alone fun. I will keep you all updated on how the progress goes though!

@PNWParksFan  This is looking really really good.. I can't wait for the end product.. Take as much time as you need. Well you don't need my permission to do that  Everything looks pretty awesome so far. Would be neat if there was a rescue basket for the ped.

Maybe even allow the person to jump out of the helo for a capsized boat rescue..Either way this is looking and sounding pretty damn good. Keep up the great work.

If you can find a prop in-game that looks like that, let me know and I'll make it happen. I spent about an hour searching through props for something appropriate and couldn't find anything. There's a stretcher prop but I could never get it to spawn in-game. There is a lifeguard float prop, so I guess if you found an appropriately sized basket I could attach them to each other.

They're all over the place which makes it more difficult. RPH Development Enhancer though can spawn props and lets you search them.

Progress update:

Lots of progress with improving maritime traffic stops!

  • Integration with LSPDFR+ to alter traffic stop questions and ticket offense reasons for watercraft
  • Improved player ped behavior on boats
  • Added more ambient boats to make up for the disappointingly low numbers of boats found ambiently in the game by default
  • Working on making arrests work at sea - this is still a major deficiency due to how LSPDFR runs the arrest animations. I've figured out the right approach to fixing it, but a fully functional solution is still a ways off.

Created a Coastal Callouts menu with lots of useful options (all functionally implemented unless otherwise noted).

  • Boat menu:
    • Spawn boat on trailer
    • Anchor your boat
    • Anchor nearby boats
    • Save your boat
  • Helicopter menu:
    • Spawn helicopter. Menu automatically lists all possible law enforcement helicopters available in the game. Checkbox allows searching through all helicopter models. Spawns at nearest appropriate heli landing location. If you come from far away it'll already be on the ground when you arrive, if you're nearby the helicopter will fly over and land as you approach.
    • Hover mode, to force helicopter into a steady hover.
    • Rappelling functionality: Still doing lots of testing and experimentation with ropes. Not fully integrated into the core mod yet, but will be.
    • Seat switch: Not yet full integrated. Will let you switch to any seat and will set up a copilot to fly while you aren't in the pilot's seat.

Additionally, I've put together some custom code to replicate the trailer attachment behavior seen in default trailers in game. There's no way that I know of to put a boat on a trailer with the default game mechanics. Now you'll be able to attach a boat to a trailer manually through the menu, and when you back the trailer into the water, the boat will detach automatically. You can also back a trailer into the water, drive a boat up onto it, and the boat will be attached to the trailer automatically.

So as you can see, there has been a lot of progress, but there's quite a bit more work left to do. If you have any suggestions or ideas, let me know and I'll see what I can do about implementing them. At the moment I'm primarily focused on developing the core functionality to make LSPDFR work on the water. I have a good list of callout ideas that I plan to implement after I get the core mechanics working. Callout ideas of course are still welcome, but please do check previous comments here to see if it's already been suggested.

This is still in development. While I am making a lot of progress implementing these features, the mod is very much incomplete. When I'm ready for a beta release I will post an update on this forum thread with information.

Awesome! May I suggest a few ideas for callouts?

  1. Missing tourist.(on beach)
  2. Boat wreck.(on land near water)
  3. indecent exposure (like a man running naked on the beach or something)
  4. Rock climbing accident.(on rocks near water.
  5. Drowning animal/person. (in water)
  6. A dead body is seen in the water.(water)
  7. A dead body is seen being dumped in the water(on land/boat near water)
I know you have lots to work on and I look forward to it all being finished. I know these probably won't be used but maybe they can be used to inspire other ideas. Keep up the amazing work. I haven't looked too much on your updates before this date because I wish to be surprised when it does come out but I'll keep my eyes open for the beta information. Have a wonderful day!

I've been intentionally not previewing any callouts, to keep the crazy new stuff a surprise. Mostly just been previewing the core features that will enable boat patrols and helicopter operations.

Good ideas for callouts. The first release will only have a few callouts as I want to get the core functionality available to people sooner than later. After that I'll gradually work on adding more callouts though.
