  • This isnt technically true from what I have experienced David but seems pretty much there. I can run vanilla GTAV, LSPDFR, callouts and most importantly EUP installed in the 'mods' folder. The second

that you need to update your update rpf ....if i were u just take your update rpf from your game directory and go in edit mode replace the update rpf in openiv and then go in your mods folder in openiv find the update rpf there replace that with the one from your game directory and see if it works

I am having the same issue, I launch Ragehook and it gets to the loading screen and crashes. This has been happening since GTA V updated. Now I uninstalled LSPDFR and ran the game it loaded just fine but then I reinstalled LSPDFR and it crashes???

If anyone knows what is the deal please PM me i really am wanting to play gta v

For many people are the Problems with the new Rage and GTA V version, because OpenIV updated also. If you use an "mods" folder GTA is crashing, don't know if this fits into this thread but if you're searching an reason why GTA V is crashing this could be one reason for it. So most of the people have to wait for an OpenIV update from now.

This isnt technically true from what I have experienced David but seems pretty much there. I can run vanilla GTAV, LSPDFR, callouts and most importantly EUP installed in the 'mods' folder. The second I go to introduce extra bits such as RDE thats where i start hitting crashes, i.e. essentially adding non-vanilla vehicles. I think this probably has something to do with R* putting in that security to stop MP vehicles being spawned in SP. That, the subsequent RageHook attempt to get round it and the method used by OpenIV thats let us do that to this point seems to be where the whole thing seems to be falling down in my opinion. Other people may have experienced different however after tinkering around with my install and trying to see when problems start that seems to be it.

seems  legit ! I still don't know why Rockstar don't want modded vehicles in their game... No one wants those shi***stock cars in the game, the game doesn't make fun with stock cars. I hope the developers of Rage and OpenIV will make an update to pass the R* security.

yes i have

If you have a mods folder, open your openIV and see if it tells you your update.rpf needs to be updated. If so press the button to allow it to update it then your game should work. You might have to replace the data files or anything that you have changed once you update it. If you are not using a mods folder this will not apply to you. Give it a shot and tell me what happen please. When your game updates it will update the original "update.rpf" but not the one in your mods folder.

I was able to fix this through a clean directory.

Had the issue before, with crashing at story mode, Rage 37, all that good stuff.

Now, I just replaced my GTA V directory with a clean directory [No mods, meant for online], and started modding from there. Installing cars, callouts, scripts, and more! I also don't use a mods folder, so maybe that will help?

Its been working like a charm ever since.
