  • Oh a whim I tried opening the backup file with 7zip.  The files were there and restoring them manually seemed to do the trick.  Hope this works for you guys too until things get updated.

  • You are a genius, @HotFuzz ! I've been trying to get it to work for a whole day and it's finally working! :D

  • In the installation folder, for me it was GameBackups.rph, which I opened with 7zip (could also rename it to .zip I suppose). File inside there got the backups in it.

By restoring the backup you made prior to the update. The RPH offers this option during each installation of it.

I tried that but it keeps leaving the new version active

I don't understand the point of signatures on this site. What the fuck is the point?

I face the exact same issue.  It starts to restore and then just goes back to what it was, still stating it is an unsupported version.

This text does not really say anything of any significant importance.

Are you sure you restored it properly then?

100% sure. I click revert, it says reverting to old point, but in the end changes nothing

Please walk me through this process? I am not good with some file-related stuff.

I found the backup but when I click on it, it still loads me into the new version

Same problem here. "Revert" does nothing, it just spins for a second but nothing changes.

In GTA V installation directory there is a file called GameBackups.rph.  I used 7zip to open it, but it should be possible to rename it to, say, GameBackups.zip instead.  Then you can open it with WinZip or WinRAR (or perhaps even windows).

Inside this is another archive, named after the version it is, 1.0.617.1,1.0.505.2.  Open that and inside there you should find three files, GTA5.exe, GTAVLauncher.exe and update.rpf.  Place the two EXEs go into the installation directory of GTA V, the update.rpf goes into the Update folder found there.

Hope this helps.

I just got home from work and I was going to wait for an update but I just tried your solution and it works perfect! Thanks for everything

Can someone upload the archive please? I have just installed the LSPDFR and my archive  GameBackups.rph is empty.
