Traffic mod?

Featured Replies

Click the link, it's up for me.

Also: I love traffic jams in GTA IV, because it makes responding Code 3 more challenging, rather than just being able to run every intersection full speed, you have to use your siren and actually "fight" your way through the intersections (which are often blocked with cars turning etc..

Due to the graphic nature of this post, reader discretion is advised.

  • Have you tried the mod called "More Liberty?" As mrcharga3000 said above, it is a modified popcycle.dat file that adds an extreme amount of peds and vehicles into the game's traffic. I've looked throu

@the guy who posted before about a "heck of a jam", that's what I want. Like Break said, a huge traffic jam like times square where you move slowly and cars just don't give a damn you're coming through. I put on Real Liberty, or whatever it is, and it works great, but not enough ...

EDIT: It seems I didn't wait enough, THIS IS GODDAMN AMAZING I CANT EVEN MOVE MY CAR

I just realized I didn't install more liberty, I'm using the traffic mod you sent me, I got it from another site.

I advice you to NOT add that amount of Traffic. I did it with TrafficLoad, and edited the TrafficLoad.ini by adding tons of traffic. By doing that, the traffic truly showed me it isn't made for that much traffic. On Highways and merge lanes it will annoy the most, because when traffic tries to merge on to the highway traffic comes, and they will wait. Then you get a heck of a traffic Jam, who won't move, even though they can!

And in town this will annoy a lot too.

I agree. The cracks in the traffic and driver systems really start to show when you have tons of cars.

The only bad thing I found is more red light runners, but otherwise it's realistic and I love having tons of cars.

It's mostly the bad traffic paths, the missing or miscycled lights, and AI behavior (won't go if opposing traffic occupies the intersection even if their path is clear; VERY noticible with large amounts of cars).

That's why I changed the mod around a bit and it's almost bumper to bumper all over the Triangle, the way it should be. I don't see any problems with that stuff. Do you live in NYC?

Nah, NW Washington. I'm not saying that traffic jams are bad in the game, it's just that it shows some of the holes in R*s work that bug me.

Have you ever been to Manhattan? Go to the Triangle with the real traffic mod installed and watch the cars pile up all over the place with no idea where to go, that's how it is in NYC.
