North Korea fails again

Recommended Posts

I just read on Yahoo that the North Koreans just launched their missile thing. Now, I read the comments and it said this;

http://abcnews.go.com/International/north-korea-launches-test-rocket/story?id=16125951

North Korea just launched it's missile right into the ocean. Nice going, morons. Was anyone even concerned about this thing? I was sort of hoping the US would shoot it down, just so we can see a big firework show over the Pacific Ocean, then we flatten NK once and for all. Even though it crashed, I think that SK will get even more pissed, and this may of just started WWIII.

It was a Satillite launch, not a missile as far as we know. I'd also rather not get into a war with a nuclear armed country with nuclear armed friends for no real reason.

Who knows. They've already messed with South Korea,US and most of the south-west Asian countries. It seems like they want to just continue with their craziness w/o any real support.

On a side note,I won't be surprised if China were supporting them secretly.

Let's see. China attacks the US, they have literally no exports. That means they run out of money, which means their military turns to shit (even though it probably is already). The US supports China economically more than anyone else, so I doubt they'd think about it.

You realize 'Marine', that not many people on this forum really want to discuss Politics.. We are here for fun and games, not a discussion about who thinks who should be attacked or what not.. Its okay to discuss the topic at hand, which is the missile launch itself, not the politics linked with it... I don't want to see it, and I'm sure other people don't..

I wish LCPD:FR had a clear rule about politics... Hmmm..

I'll bite.

"I was sort of hoping the US would shoot it down, just so we can see a big firework show over the Pacific Ocean, then we flatten NK once and for all" - You realize, that had the U.S. Defence launched a strike on the missile in mid air this would in fact start this war that you want, how ever, we wouldn't be the ones that are defending, we would be assaulting. What makes YOU so sure that this wasn't just a Satellite missile, or a 'blank'? This was a 'test' launch was it not? I'm sure the U.S. hasn't launched a numerous about of tests and failed...

"this may of just started WWIII" - I highly doubt that. Until it can be proven that it contained nuclear materials intended for destruction on a destination that was predetermined by North Korea, then it won't happen..

You don't see my point. It was a ROCKET LAUNCH. By starting WWIII, I mean that the South Koreans will get pissed off and invade, leaving the US and UN to support their invasion. NK would fall in weeks. It's better to attack than defend, so how is that a downside?

Don't underestimate their military, but you're right about China not wanting to attack the US. Though, the exact same thing could be said the other way around: there is no way the US would attack China. One of the best parts of globalization: trade links prevent wars.

Marine831, I don't seem to understand why you felt the need to create another topic pertaining to Politics when clearly we just had a great issue on another thread of users flaming back and fourth, in a way, you seem to want to want to "air" out your opinions, rather than leave the politics off this site, I'll be leaving this thread open for now, but at the very site of a Flame War, It will be closed, I will not stand for Flame Wars continuing on the site.

The North Koreans sank one of their ships and shelled one of their towns a few years ago. I highly dounbt they'd choose this of all things as a reason to invade.

The North Koreans claim it was a weather rocket. By the design, it doesn't look like that at all, nor does the trajectory of where it was supposed to travel and where it ended up traveling. The pieces used to build it were "borrowed" from Russia and China according to news reports I saw a couple of hours ago. They've already test fired missiles that horribly failed before, and this is just another failure on their part. They do have some nuke knowledge, but apparently they can't design guidance systems to save their lives. Some analysts think that NK is going to tell the world that it was "shot down" by Japan in order to play it off like it was successful. Japan and SK are combing the water with the U.S. where they think it landed to try and find out exactly what it was.

The way NKorea acts anymore, they are like that annoying kid/bully who takes your hat off your head, throws it on the ground, then trips over it when they run away, but honestly, if they keep it up, * Inhales* ahhhhhh, I can smell the WW3 from here....

When Kim Jong Il died, they had talked to a couple of US press members, and the military generals admitted they knew that if they started any kind of conflict with America that they'd get stomped into the ground very quickly, so they have no plans on attacking us directly, and they're probably very hesitant to attack South Korea too since we have troops stationed there. Even if they did, we have far more countries with us than against us. I dare them to try something, honestly. Watch how quickly England, Germany, France, Australia, and Japan would help out. Hell, if it lasted a long time we can take solace in the fact that even countries like Russia (who more or less created North Korea) don't like them anymore. For that matter I don't know of any country who legitimately likes them. Some arab states might support them only because they don't like Westerners.

Justin, my intents weren't a political flame war, it was just bringing on news to see peoples' reactions here.

We also forget that alot of Russia/China's military systems are from the cold war, where NK was pretty much allied to both. That's why they most likely look similar. cp, there's hardly anything to underestimate. They starve their people, and their entire GDP is like, 4% of our military budget. The US and SK would steamroll them in days, we've come far since 1950-1953.

The North Koreans sank one of their ships and shelled one of their towns a few years ago. I highly dounbt they'd choose this of all things as a reason to invade.

That's why it's a reason. Those pushed SK even further, and this may be the breaking point.

Agreed, but its always to just not start something rather than ruin an entire country and loose lives just to rub out an annoyance, here is to hoping they knock it off soon

I know, its just that after how bad that other thread turned, it seems a little soon to start speaking of politics on the site since it seems some users cannot handle them selves when the topic comes up, any who, as I stated, I wont/other mods wont close until a flame war irrupts.
