Do other people have this much trouble with vehicle skins?

Featured Replies

Ok so i have tried a bunch of different skins, and i follow the instructions and all that, but when i launch with ragehook it crashes, and when i launch with just steam, it still crashes. I go thu the process of C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Grand Theft Auto V\Updates\x64\dlcpacks... blah blah blah.  I have also tried creating a "mods" folder in my GTA 5 folder, and putting a copy of the "updates" folder and "x64e.rpf" thing in there and putting the skins there like i have seen in instillation videos, but literally nothing works. Im not sure if any of this makes any sense but if someone can help me PLEASE DO, IM BEGGING YOU!!!!

Many vehicle models and textures have updated versions in the various patchday DLC archives. If there are, anything in the original files and previous patchdays will be overwritten. Best advice is to install all models and textures to the vehicles.rpf in the newest patchday.

Patchday 8 works for me and sometimes skins require u to edit the template in order to see the change.

Well, that'd be an edited model file, which would also be placed in the same archive file.

So just put it in the most recent patchday?

That means u have something conflicting with the game.. Probably some file u forgot to change back or somethin man.  Just delete the GTAV folder and do a fresh reinstall of the game. Make a MODS folder within your OPENIV if u did not have that already.  Install 1 MOD at a time to make sure its not the culprit.

You think one of my LSPDFR plugins is conflicting with it, cuz the only mod I have is LSPDFR and the rest are LSPDFR plugins within the "plugins" folder. And i should i be installing my vehicle skins directly in the updates folder or put them in the mods folder? By the way i put a copy of the "updates" folders and the "x64e"file to the Mods folder i created

Make copies of all files such as "update" "Common.rpf" "x64" "x64a,c and e"   Put all these files within your mods folder.  Do all this within OPENIV

And yes, check your plugins and make sure they are updated and have all the necessary files to run them.

I put them in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Grand Theft Auto V\mods\update\x64\dlcpacks\patchday3ng/dlc.rpf/x64/levels/gta5/vehicles.rpf And then i replaced the 3 files it told me to replace, then in game they were not changed, they remained the default textures

yes that is exactly what is suppose to be done..  But as far as your textures not showing up try PATCHDAY3 and PATCHDAY8.

Did u do a fresh reinstall of the game, as in deleting the GTAV folder and then reinstalling the game???
