What KEYS do you have assigned to ELS & other MODS?

Featured Replies

Hey guys,

I'm having a little bit of a key binding conflict here. My ELS is conflicting with my LCPDFR & my GTA IV default keys. Any quick thoughts on some 'unused' keys I can assign to ELS? Anyone mind sharing with me their keys bindings? Or any unused keys you guys are aware of I can change in the .ini files? I already have SNT keys disabled to solve part of the issues. THANK YOU ALL!

I assign my siren to "Q". It lets me be able to switch them rapidly when necessarily.

I use all my numbers for my ELS keys.

Thank you guys for the QUICK responses! wmai20 - I like the "Q" idea for sure!

theninja35- Do you mean the primary numbers, or do you mean the Numpad? Numpad makes sense to avoid conflicts?

Thank you guys!

Well, I mainly use the ones under the "F-" buttons. But, the numpad would work.

I use those because it's what I like a lot, farther things away from me. It just helps when I forgot where the key is, I can look at the screen and press a button. But the Numpad #'s are probably better.

(I don't use letters because when I make a traffic stop in RC2, I have to type in the suspect's name.)

You've posted this in the wrong section, this belongs in GTA IV > Discussion, I'll go ahead and move the thread.

Damn it, man! I'm sorry for posting this incorrectly! I truly don't intend on causing you admin's extra work. Sorry for that. I will verify my posting sections better next time.

I feel dumb!

okay man, I see that. Doesn't that conflict with the "V" camera control? Nevertheless, I like the numpad idea! Thank you!

What do you mean "camera control"? It doesn't conflict for me...

My keyboard has an extra =, (, and ) above the numpad, so I use those for the lights, and Pause/Break for the sirens. It works pretty well; I don't hit ELS keys when doing anything else.

I have been using the q key myself.

I use one of the thumb side buttons on my mouse for my ELS siren, I keep JKL for the lights, I don't need to change them once I turn them on.

What key did you plug in to use the side button, cant figure it out?

Just mapped the G key to the side button of my mouse in the Logitech software - It's a Logitech G9x Laser gaming mouse.

WOW, thank you everyone for the input! Great, now I have been bitten by the "Get a NEW mouse" bug...thanks a lot guys! Seriously, I appreciate all of the input from you guys. Looks like "q", the Numpad, and in the future a new mouse are in the mix. Next is going through the endless tutorials on texturing and adding lightbars etc.

Thanks again all!
