Vehicle Models Don't Show In Game.

Recommended Posts

I'm pretty new to the experience of LSPDFR, and I have encountered an issue. Vehicle models that I install using OpenIV show in the OpenIV directory, but do not display in game. I've noticed that it wants me to modify the x64e.rpf file that is copied to the "mods" subfolder, but i've tried modifying the original AND the mods folder version. Sorry if this is a bit confusing, but I don't know how else to put it.. Thanks for any help you can provide.

No problem, although sadly I didn't really help much. As well, I agree, the game folder for GTA V is a mess, and it's very difficult for new users to navigate around. Odd, saying that, I don't even own GTA V. Anywho, best of luck!

think I've figured this out.. some vehicles have to be installed in a patchday folder. I'm so used to modding GTA4. I wish Rockstar didn't make it so difficult to mod the game. lol Thanks for the help.

yep generally most of them will go into update/x64/dlcpack/xxx but sometimes the readme will have you install them to the other .rpf files that are in your main GTA root directory. just make sure to make a copy of those files into your mod folder; and not make the OpenIV edits to the core files themselves, bad news come patch day if you do that. Here is what my mods folder for OpenIV in the GTA directory looks like.

As well, keep a copy of your mods and a vanilla version of your game on stand-by, in case you accidentally ruin a carvartions.meta or vehicles.meta file, for instance. Just a tip that can help, keeping a back-up of everything and all.

Rule of thumb is to install all modified model and/or texture files in the latest compatible patchday, which will ensure they get loaded instead of anything previous.

Ok but how do you know if the patchday is compatible? For instance, I have a modded Airbus that will not load in game using x64e vanilla slot, like the readme says..

Latest compatible patchday generally means the one you're on, or the one that actually has a vehicles.rpf.

I need donations to help fund my food addiction. DM for details 😂
