It's very different to the Pierce arrows used by the LAFD, which is a shame. However, this looks really good, best of luck with this project.

Eventually I want to add various fire trucks, ambulances and other things like Garbage trucks since they are severely under represented in GTA. The Enforcer is something I started on because of the many different models you can make off of it, including changing the Grill and converting it to a Arrow XT

That's actually very interesting. I too would like to create various un-represented mods, like the GMC Yukon for the Los Angeles Park Rangers, and the Ford F-450 ambulance for the Los Angeles Fire Dept. Currently the focus is all on creating the police vehicles, so I feel that the rest of the vehicles deserve to get made too. Unfortunately I have no experience in modelling, and being an engineering student at university means I have little time for it, but come May after my final exams I would very much like to create these vehicles.

I added a cover for the LDH on the rear and I'm considering doing a deck gun, but I noticed some of the Enforcer models don't have deck gun capabilities. Not really sure how to proceed on that part. I'll continue to add details to it, and will more than likely upload the deck gun as a separate developer mod. I decided to go low poly on the undercarriage similar to the original firetruck model also.

Hey guys. Sorry for being gone for so long. I decided to scrap the Pierce Enforcer because I really don't care much for the enforcer. I decided to go with the Pierce Arrow XT. It's slow progress because I'm learning as I go, but I want to have this finished by January. I think I'm going to release a base version that has the bare components and let the community customize them as they see fit.

So far I have made tires, I'm working on the hose reel, and I've began working on a deck gun. I plan to release them all as development models.

Anyway, here's what the Pierce Arrow XT looks like so far. I'll try to keep everything updated. once again sorry for the change.

Are you going for LAFD ? This is awesome and a nice change.

Yes. I have a separate LAFD Style Cab that I saved at the beginning of this. Once I finish this I will turn my attention to the LAFD Pierce. I believe after that it will be a tiller. So far I'm trying to keep the poly count under 150,000 even though I've read that GTA V can handle up to 500,000 polys.

Here's an update.

Thanks for update.  I actually like the Arrow XT way better than the Enforcer, so I'm very happy for the change.

Do you think you would do a rescue before the tiller? (Same wheel base, just take out the pump and another set of equipment doors)

A tiller would/will be amazing!

Great work! Glad that this project is continuing :)

Very glad to see you've come back, I feared that the project was dead due to the lack of any updates from you. Likewise, I'm glad that you've opted for the Pierce Arrow instead of the Enforcer. The Arrow is far more suited to the city environment which GTA V has, plus it is better looking than the Enforcer too. It seems that recently the community has gone to sleep, there seems to have been a lack of vehicles being produced so I'm really glad to see someone still developing a good vehicle. I expect that this will be an instant hit with the community.

Once again, best of luck with the project, I hope you keep going with it.

Yea I found that I wasn't really enjoying working with the Enforcer because there's not really any connection to it. But with the Arrow XT It's seen everywhere and has been around for a long time.

Right now I'm working on everything individually. Pretty much every part is being modeled extremely close to it's counterpart and because of that nothing has been attached to anything else. They are all separate objects that I plan on attaching and then mapping once I finish with the details.

Does anyone know if you Unwrap in 3D Studio if it translates over to Zmodeler, or does Zmodeler require a different unwrap?

Also, here's progress of the Pump panel I have been working on today. It's slightly difficult because every department specs their apparatus to their needs, so using reference images brings back tons of different layouts.

Yeah, the Enforcer's large front bumper made it unsuitable for the streets of LA, plus it's much longer isn't it? From what I've gathered, the Arrow XT is the main engine of the LAFD, alternatively the 2010 KME seems to be the second main apparatus used for urban fires.

That was the GTA IV version of the LAFD Pierce Arrow, in case it could be of use for this model for referencing.

It really depends. The Side mount Arrow XT in comparison to the Side Mount Contenders tend to be shorter ,but because pretty much every truck is customized to a department specs its hard to say.

I've seen the GTA IV version of the Pierce Arrow. I also seen that there was a low poly Arrow XT Ladder truck made that doesn't seem to be released.

Also, here are two images from 3D Studio with poly counts. I'm starting the interior now and then i'll finish the Monitor for last

Looks great ! What kind of light package do you have in mind ? Will it be LAFD specs or generic ? Will it have a Whelen Freedom Ultra ?

You could try and clone the LAFD new KME Predator Whelen light package to your Pierce Arrow Apparatus, http://www.shapirophotography.net/fire%20trucks/2011/Southern%20CA%20March/images/small/LAFD_E27_000491A.jpg

I'm not sure. I know there are lightbars for download and I may use one of those but I have to find out what kind is most common for these models.
