cant wait for these cars...didn't like the other lapd fpis, will your version be the accurate scale? and will the utility get a more black grille like the other utilities?

as he has shown time and time again, yes the fpi will be accurate scale, and if the grill isnt accurate yet, he will eventually update it to be accurate

and about fpiu

look at my screens

enb is not the problem its the reflection it still looks like the civilian grille in terms of how glossy it is ...If the car reflection setting on an enb is increased so does the gloss on the grille...if it were toned down a bit more I think it would look great

The LAPD doesn't use a matte black grill, the reflection is like it should be

:woot: I do like the fact that you're building: Police, Ambulance & Fire. That's really good. Although, I'd suggest you keep that list like that, otherwise you'll be taking on too many projects at once.

I can understand him doing a bunch of projects. You get bored of one thing and you start another but then all of a sudden you feel a drive to go back to a previous project you left off on.  Now if only there were more pics of that 2016 utility.  :whistling:

Yeah, I can understand it too. I know, some pics of a 2016 Utility would be nice   Especially since I recently looked at TheHurks 1/3 scale 2016 FPUI in the CHP pack, man that thing is small.

how Is it small? utilities are not big vehicles the 2014 utility in that chp pack is huge

I know they don't use a matte grille but it shouldn't be as shiny as it is on this utility, the other utilities look fine but this one is a bit to glossy

The FPUI's are SUV's, they're SUV sized. Check out this:  https://www.ford.com/fordpoliceinterceptor/models/#/utility/ The FPUI is a tall and big car, especially compared to the Crown Vic. Check out the comparison on their website. TheHurks 2016 FPUI is barely taller than a Vic, which is wrong.

Edited by SeaHawk14

See the thing is with most FPIU's on here they are even too small, or too big such as "Windows LAPD fpiu" is too big, or "TheHurks" is too small, this creates confusion to the community because other authors wouldn't know which one to scale against and people start commenting saying it's too big or too small. This has happened to "policesco" when making a semi realistic "LAPD 2016 fpiu" and people said it was wrong because he used "Desmond's" model instead of "Windows".

utility next to a Tahoe...its not a tall vehicle, go to a ford dealer and stand next to one, they are a hybrid cross between a car and an suv and desmonds model is the correct scale

Terrible photo choice using NYSP's gigantic Freedom-based FPIU, this will guarantee confusion as there are many people on here who think all lightbars are the same length.

But you're right. A Ford Explorer is not a big vehicle -- at all. Neither is a Taurus. They're tiny.

I will say though, that I think Desmond98 is being quite a bit more arrogant than what is considered healthy by emphasizing "correct scaling" using values pulled off Wikipedia, over all sources -- if it was that simple, why don't other people do the same thing? Instead of trying to get correct dimensions as according to zmodeler standards, perhaps try considering what is practical in the real world because I can guarantee you all that 0% of vehicles in Grand Theft Auto V are precise in scaling to their real world counterparts, and especially not precise in scaling to the size of the NPCs.

I am 6'4-6'5 and I stand taller than the Ford Explorer. I own one. It sits in my driveway. It is not big, it is actually rather small. However, pulling Wikipedia values and placing them in zmod does not make it correct nor should it be grounds for gloating on, especially when GTA V is already a game where "realism" is far from reach in most things that Rockstar has implemented.

lol, if you don't know how people make real size for gta cars, it's doesnt't mean that's impossible.

Do you ever see other mods with real size in description? i think yes

it's not a magic, this is just a base thing that all modders should do, because it's so generic

This technique with real size started from gta 4, and the same for gta 5.

I never said it was impossible, I'm saying it's impractical. But hey, apparently you know best. If you think wikipedia scaling in Zmodeler is a selling point for your cars, as opposed to a practical scale that works with the game engine, by all means, continue doing what you're doing. Just remember that the game is absolutely far from accurate scale, and as a result, handling will be an absolute bitch to nail down -- this will cause discrepancies with other cars too.
