Police Scanner mod

Featured Replies

Im in the process of creating a police scanner mod similar to the one used in ppm but for LCPDFR instead...its gonna be the same basic idea by using a radio station as the actual scanner so you wont have to hear the in game GTA 4 police chatter. Im not sure if this has already been created if so let me know and any pointers to make this good would be appreciated. so what do yall think?

Wrong section, should be in gameplay/misc mods, moving thread.

It'd be nice, I'm using the the sound files in my user music in ppm, but it gets so repetitive, I find it just way easier to play a scanner over the internet, but yeah if you make the mod, make long big sound files, other wise it'd get really repetitive.

yea thats what Im planning on doing im also gonna use files that have pauses so its more realistic instead of talking over and over again and then one audio file playing on top of another so im gonna try to get something thats not as annoying and repetetive and more realistic

Is there a bug or something that stops the police scanner from working in the game? I have always heard it while playing FR, but I don't use anything other than default vehicles, so that may be it. Plus, the sound is pretty quiet on the ingame one, but it is there.

Did you ever get the PPMs radio chatter to play in your police car? I have created a dummy file to see if it will work right and i cant access the radio for independence FM in a police car

Simple native trainer with mobile radio and the station set to independence.fm. Add some scanner recordings to your user music folder and you're set.

One question, How would I get some scanner recordings? Could i download some from somewhere?

You could go in on the NYPD scanner, there is tutorial for that, and then just record looooooong files from there.

A mod I would like to see is one that allows you to place an m3u in the User Music files so it could be streamed when turning on Independence FM, that way you could just download the M3U file from say, radioreference.com.

i found about 3 hours of radio chatter from the beging of the first plane hiting the twin towers it is good but dont really go with the game
