Mods folder

Featured Replies

I have a quick question and I haven't been able to find it yet. When I go to install or "replace" a vehicle, do I need to copy the update.rpf, the DLC.rpf or just the vehicles.rpf? Also if it's the update.rpf, do I need to replace the files in every patch folder the vehicle appears? Still pretty new at this stuff. Just looking for clarification.

You need to copy whatever file is needed for the mod you downloaded.

If you need to replace something in \update\x64\dlcpacks\patchday4ng you need to copy that file structure to your mods folder.

Invenio, Investigatio, Imperium

Got ya. Ok so if I need to replace something in say that patchday4 folder, I would need the dlc.rpf from that patchday4 folder in the mods folder correct?

I believe that if you need to replace something in that folder that you need the entire folder location. So for replacing something in patchday4ng you would need the entire folder that is named 'update' .

This is correct. As I said, you need to copy the entire file structure. Your "mods" folder is essentially a partial mirror of your root game directory.

For the whole time, I have been putting my mods in the patch folders. I had no clue you were supposed to use a mods folder. Is a mods folder necessary?

No, but it stops you from messing up the original files, and you can easily turn off the mods folder so you can play online without getting banned.
