(possible) gta 5 update...

Featured Replies

It's been a known issue since the launch of the game on PC. Basically a memory leak that overloads the RAM and forces the use of the hard drive page file. But loading from the hard drive is a lot slower than from the RAM, thus the stuttering. Many posts and tickets have been sent to Rockstar, without answers, I doubt they even know how to solve it, or if they know it's too deep into the game's code to actually solve it.

In order to rollback you backup your GTAV.exe GTAVlauncher.exe and update folder before it updates. After it updates drag those back into the directory and it should prevent it from updating again.

  • Rockstar's DRM is pretty amateur, and I've had a few people confirm the old date trick works.

Great- since the update, the game doesn't even work correctly. All the LOD's are low-detail even when i'm up close. How the hell do thy manage that?

Basically- it only seems to be affecting certain buildings/textures. It was perfectly fine before a 50+mb update installed, then things went down the crapper.

I rolled back to the previous launcher, however the constant crashes from low memory are still there... whatever they did in that update has nerfed my game. Thumbs down to you Rockstar.
