LSPDFR on consoles

I'm sure everyone will see the title and be like, "That's not possible. This dude is an idiot." And I completely understand you thinking that. But just think about it. You could have a ton more players playing it, because you wouldn't have to worry about your computer specs and if you have everything installed correctly. I know porting stuff over is a lot of work, I understand. But if you would do it with every update and not wait until the last update to port it, then it won't be as much work because you would do it slowly at a time. Obviously you couldn't do car mods and all the other junk people would like, but it would give people that have less powerful computers a chance to play LSPDFR with decent graphics and not having to deal with FPS drops. I know this is asking a lot, I was just hoping the G17 Media team and the community members would read this and really give it some thought. You could definitely get more people to use it because a lot of people would love to play it on consoles.

And another thing you all are probably thinking, even if we were able to get the mod to work on consoles, how are we going to give it to everyone without a jailbroken console. Well that's a good thought. One way is if someone would make a backup with the GTA 5 files and the mods that way we could install the modded backup on our consoles. Or option 2, G17 media and everyone that wants the mod to be on consoles, would have to sign a petition or something of the kind, and have Rockstar give it a thought. Obviously they couldn't release it as a regular update, but they could put it in the Playstation and Microsoft store as an add-on and people that wanted it could buy it. I know this is a lot to ask and don't go all crazy with comments, but just give it some thought and put what you think. If you have any questions just ask below and I will try to answer them.

Rockstar doesn't give a shit about petitions. You'd have to email their mouthoff@rockstargames.com for it to have a chance of effect.

Also, I'll just quote this; "The PS3 has a proprietary processor that doesn't accept instructions the same way a normal x86 CPU would, so it would be impossible. And as far as I know, the small XBOX 360 operating system is nothing at all like Windows aside from the possibility of Direct X rendering, which would again make things like .DLL files and scripthooks built for Windows useless. That's the technical way of explaining it. I'm still dumbfounded though as to why I get so many questions from people every week thinking they can just dump everything onto a thumb drive, shove it in their favorite game console and have everything magically work."

It can't and it won't happen just now. It's not something we're interested in doing. We're a PC team working with PC mods.

Invenio, Investigatio, Imperium

That's not possible. This dude is an idiot.

JOKES ASIDE:

It wouldn't be able to be done reasonably well. With PC, you have everything you need right there, and what you don't have you can reasonably make. Consoles, you don't have access to the operating system without homebrew, you can't modify the game without the very real possibility of fucking something up big-time.

At least with PC, you can reinstall everything. Console? Only the support centres have the discs, and they'd charge you an arm and a leg for repairing it.

This wont happen for quite a few reasons.

1. This would actually require approval from rock* (something this mod does not have)

2. This would also require approval from Take 2 Interactive (Also something thats not going to happen)

3. The controller doesn't have enough buttons to control everything in LSPDFR and its third party addons

I'm sure the're more reasons that other people will give

I fully understand where you are coming from. And like I said I was just wondering if it could even be a possibility. My main point was you could have probably twice as many people playing it just because it would be easier for them to get and have it.

That's not possible. This dude is an idiot.

I understand that it would be a lot harder to program into a console. And that's why I said if you could show Rockstar that they could get more people to play GTA 5 on consoles and PC because now you can play as a cop and do the complete opposite of what you have been doing, and once you can get the PC LSPDFR working exactly fine and have all the features that you could ever imagine on it, then I don't see why they could possibly pass up an opportunity like that to just port it over to consoles.

As mentioned, this is just next to impossible with a PS3 or Xbox 360. The newer consoles do use similar x86 architecture, but it is still not likely. My advice would be just buy a gaming PC already. If you love games, you wont regret it.

My last advice to you and your fellow console gamers who want something like this, is to wait for Police 10-13. The developers of Police 10-13 have confirmed that the game will also launch on consoles(Xbox 1 and PS4). That is your only resort for something like this. If it's going to be any good, great there you have it. Your wish come true. Just have patience because the game is in early alpha stages still.
