LS - Highway Patrol

Featured Replies

Greetings,

Quick question, the Highway Patrol in LSPDFR that shows up, aside from the motorcycles that show up they also show up in all white unmark vehicles. Is that specific for the Highway Patrol or does it just draw from the unmark in general with the emphasis of being white every time. What I'm looking for is to create a texture specific for the Highway Patrol without overriding something else that is already taken like the LSPD or LSSD, the Feds would be out of the question.

Let me know if there is something or not. Thanks

It's taking the police4 model and spawning it in white. There's no specific SAHP/LSHP model except for the motorcycle. You can add one though, the game works pretty well with added models.

So if I add a vehicle, how would I go about changing the spawning parameters in game to allow for me to call-backup and there vehicles show up. I'm assuming you take an existing model and texture and copy it, change the file name and reinsert it in the list, in which case I need to know where I can change the spawning for that. If you or anyone who knows can let me know that would be great.

You can make it spawn in traffic and have it dispatched by GTA (if youre being chased by the police). As for LSPDFR, there's no way to add it to backup or vehicle selection (yet!)

Okay, that is somewhat sad, I could certainly see a lot of vehicle textures being done if it were possible to dispatch them from LSPDFR. I suppose for the sake of conversation then, what is the process of adding in additional vehicles into the game, if this is the case I think we could still spawn it through the F4 menu.

There's a tutorial here: http://www.lcpdfr.com/forums/topic/50909-adding-a-new-emergency-vehicle-is-possible-now/

It isn't very good however. Couldn't get it to work straight away.

What should work is downloading another mod that adds a policecar (for example: link )and just taking a look at the structure of the mod. The files it adds/changes. Together with the tutorial above it should become pretty straightforward how to do it :)

EDIT: The link should work now.

Okay, thank you, I will look into this. Perhaps adding additional law enforcement vehicles to LSDPFR dispatching in the future could be possible, then we can have Blaine County in it also along with Los Santos County.

To answer this, yes, only the Highway Patrol uses the unmarked car.

Granted that is the case, but I wouldn't be able to skin an unmark and then never be able to use it for other departments since it would have a highway patrol logo on it or sorts since it draws from that model and the color white specifically.

what you could do is copy the files of the unmarked(maybe using tutorials shared above) and make a new vehicle for the unmarked that you could spawn with the trainer. Then replace the original unmarked with a highway patrol vehicle from the download section. So when you want to patrol with an unmarked you can and then you would see a highway patrol vehicle responding instead of an unmarked vehicle.

Possible option, sounds somewhat painful to sit down and code it out to get it to work properly. I'll have to look into it.
