Hello.
Before all the fan boys goes flaming and whatnot. Understand this, i got nothing against this mod or the people behind it. I am happy that it exist and it does give new life to GTA and i will prolly in the future donate some money to them. Now that i got that said, back to the topic.

 

There is something i really dont understand about LSPDFR/G17 Media, they got this product and people who wanna use their product has to use another product named Ragehook. Nothing wrong with that, it's not that i wonder about. It's the way they handle things if something does not run.

How can you have a product, that can only run if you use something else and if that other product is not running, then you refuse to help and say it's not "your" problem.

It's like, if i go to a car dealership and buy a new car, then a few days later the engine wont run, then i contact the car dealership where i bought the car and they say it's not "our" problem.
You cant make a product that relies primarily on another product and then take no part in service/support for that.

 We are unable to provide support for the RageHook, and require all support topics pertaining to this be posted over on the official RageHook forums.

It doesn't make sense at all to have such support policy, you even state to lock threads asking for help on this.

Any topics asking specifically for support regarding the RageHook crashing their game, not launching and so on, will be locked.

Wouldnt it create a better community if you participate in a solution to make the complete package work?

Do what you want with this thread, i have said what i wanted and your prolly going to lock or remove this thread. How you respond to this or what actions you do, only shows people what others and my self can expect from G17 Media.

There's a perfectly working forum on the RageHook website itself. It's much better having it all there than crowding up the LCPDFR forums. They're not denying to help you, they just don't want it blowing up the LCPDFR forums when there's the perfectly functional forum page on the RH website. This, essentially. 

Plus, we don't have to give support to anyone. We don't have to have a support forum, as stated in the usage policy "Please note that this software is provided by G17 Media and the contributors 'as is' ". We don't have to develop LSPDFR. But we do so anyway. We don't have a support team on standy 24/7: We have volunteers. Adding even more workload to them for a software we don't 100% control is not just feasible. 

Plus, I think you got it a bit wrong - We do help people who are having issues with the RageHook AND LSPDFR. Threads just asking for RageHook support has a much larger chance of being solved if you ask it at a place where its main developer posts.

Why would we lock and remove a thread that has valid points? We don't discourage members from providing constructive criticism, we encourage that. 

And I think most people know what you can expect from G17 Media: Free modifications developed by dedicated developers for free in their own sparetime - Providing relentless entertainment and community interaction on a daily basis. Providing a free site, where no one is treated differently. A site where you can download items for free, as much as you want, as often as you want. 

That's what you can expect from G17 Media. 

G17Media doesn't develop the RageHook. It's LMS. He tries to help where he can, theres just a much bigger chance your issue will be resolved on the RagePluginHook Forums rather than here.

It's like your ScriptHookV not working and you asking the modder to help you, instead of Alex Blade. Get what I'm saying?

This is because RAGEPluginHook and LSPDFR are technically very different. One exposes V's scripting functions and one actually uses them. This is the same setup for almost all script-based mods: You have a "script hook" and a mod. It also was the same in GTA IV and we didn't really provide support for the .NET ScriptHook either, at least not actively. Because of the limits we experienced with SHDN on IV (at least until Hazard added me to the repo so we could change some stuff we desperately needed) we decided to in fact have our own implementation, which is RAGEPluginHook. But a) since I'm the only team member of LSPDFR developing it (together with a non-team member) and b) because it's a completely different product with completely different support needs, there is also a separate website/forum. With V we are more close to the "full package" than we were with V. Most people just don't understand that LCPDFR on GTA IV had undergone six years of development, while LSPDFR and RAGEPluginHook is about three months. It just can't be perfect.

How not? Does Rockstar help you when the game doesn't work because of hardware/driver issues? I think we already provide a very good support considering the amount of time we have.

It's easy to understand.

 have issues with LSPDFR? post here, have issues with Rage? Post in Rage's forums, have issues with GTA? Post in Rockstar's forums, i think LSPDFR's team mustn't help with Rage issues and they did help a lot of users.
