idea for fix of lack of speech audio files for LSPDFR

Featured Replies

First off, I want to say awesome job Sam and the team with LSPDFR. It plays great and is really fun. Now I know one of the things that is currently lacking in the game is proper audio files for LSPDFR. Such as for pullovers, audio command prompts from the officer to tell the prep what to do,etc. I was reading this and thought maybe the community could help with this. Here is my idea how.

Maybe the community could record audio with their voices and post it to a audio storage site approved by LCPDFR.com Then when they do that  they would have to get  permission form moderators for posting. Once approved, they could post a link in the dedicated thread that would be created for that problem. Sam and the dev team could then take that audio and work to implement it into LSPDFR. Hopefully, this would provide them with the needed audio and fix one of there problems. Either way, this is just and idea. But once again great job guys and awesome work!. keep it up!

Community sourced audio could be a good idea. Another way of doing it could be,

The developer could write up a script of things that need to be voiced and people from the community could submit their version of the lines said. then the developers could pick who ever's voice they see fit for a certain cop model or just all of them in general so it's not too much of a hassle.

I'm sure people are willing to contribute to this.

If this is possible, I have done a lot of audio related work and know recording and audio engineering concepts very well. I could really contribute to this idea and probably be able to put stuff together.

I never like it when a mod adds its own audio (especially voices), it sounds so out of place. Plus it is usually low quality since it wasn't recorded in a professional recording studio by professional voice actors and edited professionally like all of the other sounds in the game.

Agreed, that would be cool. I'm sure they're adding that later down the line, because it clearly exists for the AI. Just gotta wait for future updates.

Maybe its possible to use audio files from GTA IV?

I think that would be possible, but i'm not the one to say. Hopefully it is, i wouldn't mind that.

Using the audio from GTA IV is likely possible, but will probably require you to have GTA IV and extract the sounds yourself... I'm fairly sure that if G17 distributed GTA IV's sound files they'd be in copyright violation.
