LCPD:FR 0.95 RC 2 Blue screen (death)

Recommended Posts

Hi guys!

I installed LCPD:FR 0.95 RC2 and works only the first start.

If I turn of the game and I restart it I get Blue Screen(crash) and I must restart my pc.

So the game works great on the first start. Next time I get Blue Screen error when I start the game.

The problem solves yourself if i restart my pc, but only for 1 start. If i turn of the game and start it, I get again the blu screen crash.

Did you read the stickies before posting? You should have posted a diagnostics log with your issue...please download and run the diagnostics tool first.

Which version of the game are you running? What are your system specs? Are you running the game as an administrator? Please provide much more information if you expect other people to help you!

What is the specific BSOD code (e.g. STOP 0x124) are you receiving?

Completely uninstall grand theft auto iv and all of its components and then reinstall it.

Also update your hardware drivers (particularly audio and video hardware).

Hold off reinstalling the game and any drivers until providing us with the information I requested. The problem may be from the mod or may be from your computer. We won't know until you provide the additional information.

It is most likely hardware related. Monitor the temps of your CPU and Graphics Card and run a torture/stress test on both.

We won't know what it is until he posts the BSOD code. Just let me know what it is so I can diagnose the problem.

I have 1.0.7 version and I run as administrator.

My pc: Intel Core i5-2500K, 4GB RAM, 1 GB HD 6850 VGA.

G17 IV Diagnostics says: I have no asi loader but i have :o

And i don't need to reinstall the game to solve the problem, only restart the pc. If I restarted i can run the game only 1 time. And I need to restart again :(

Than you have a asi loader that doesn't work with your GTA 4

Do you have (IN YOUR ROOT FOLDER):

ScriptHookDotNet.asi

Which ASI loader are you using? And if you want me to tell you a more precise estimate of what is causing the issue, let me know the BSOD code...

In your GTA root folder there should be ONE of the following:

  • dsound.dll
  • xlive.dll

If you have both, delete one.

I have only one.

And there is LCPD:FR error logging

[3/9/2012 8:00:13 PM] [PULLOVER] Error: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. Source: MergedFirstResponse.net TargetSite: Void eval_LCPDFR-0(System.Object, System.EventArgs)StackTrace:	at FirstResponse.LCPD.PullOver.eval_LCPDFR-0(Object A_0, EventArgs A_1)

I have original version of the game but if I delete xliveless I have to start a new game. (Because I put 100% save )

Delete xliveless and use dsound, start a new game and save it after finishing the first mission and then try playing LCPDFR again.

Only driver errors or windows bugs can cause blue screens.

Maybe, but a while back I was getting BSOD when my graphics card was under stress and the temps were sky high. I reapplied the thermal paste and got a new cooler and I haven't had the problem since.

Ahh bug returned. Not the steam or xfire made it :(

Fully describe:

A)I can start the game. LCPD:FR works great.

B)If I quit the game. Next start i get BLUE DEATH.

C)I need to restart my PC. If i restarted my PC step A) comes.

I have skype (nick: hangfalosabb). If you want please pick me up.

And there is Blue Screen log:

Technical information:

STOP: 0x000003b (0x00000000c0000005) 0xFFFFF88004185265, 0xFFFFF880074FEA00, 0x0000000000000000

aswSP.sys - Address FFFFF88004185265 base at FFFFF 88004175000, Datestamp 4f56a5f3

OK, here's some information to further assist you:

  • STOP 0x3B is most likely caused by buggy video card drivers or faulty RAM modules. If you overclock, this issue may be corrected by adding more Vcore. You may want to do a clean reinstallation of your video drivers. Since you say it runs fine the first time but not during any additional runs, this may indicate that your RAM is the culprit. It may not be clearing in between sessions or allowing data to be written and read. Use a diagnostics tool like MEMTEST86 to check if it is indeed your RAM.
  • The particular instance you mentioned, "aswSP.sys," is a system driver used by Avast. You have this antivirus and firewall software installed, right? (Otherwise, you shouldn't even have this file.) If so, try to manually allow exceptions for GTA IV. If not, I also recommend reinstalling this particular software. You're not alone; other people who use Avast seem to also have this BSOD issue.
