This is getting so annoying. Did they messed up the hashes again with that update?

Edit: "Got the patch (1.0.372.2) , native hashes are changed , drm code protection is applied to lots of script related functions , including natives itself" ...

I'm a newbie programmer, but that sounds like it'll be a lot of work to get past.

Sorry for being off topic, but is there any way to run the game without the launcher? When I block it in firewall, regardless the game won't launch because the launcher is preventing it from doing so as it is disconnected from internet access.. I have the retail disk version so no steam for me. :(

Second this, is there a way to skip the update and play only single player?

I believe if you are running a steam version you can use the update before, but if you bought it from R* you are out of luck.

yes. block the game with the windows firewall (go to firewall with advanced security, outbound rule, then block GTA5.exe, GTAVLauncher.exe and PlayGTAV.exe)

If you lauch the game it says Code 2. Ignore it and press offline mode. Have fun playing!

Yes, this will be helpful to a lot of people. I am glad I found this. Just did it so hopefully it will work.

why would you want to block it in the firewall

To prevent the game from updating!

Update breaks scripthook. Pulling out the internet cable sucks so the best solution is to block it via firewall, if you use the none steam version

You see you didn't mention non-steam. Now it wont work for me. Have to undo the firewall.

It will only take a few days before the ScriptHook gets updated and with the hopefully soon release of LSPDFR and RAGE hook more people will be making mods for that plugin

Mods may have to change according to the ScriptHook changes

Man, I can't believe rockstar went out of their way to hurt modding. There are easier and cheaper ways to do it that wouldn't hurt mods. Let the riots start

Especially over an update no one cares about. Like who gives a shit about a golden plane and some guns.....pretty much 10% of the world.

I don't think they are wanting to hurt mods because they said single-player modding was okay. I think they are doing what they have to do to get the vanilla game running at the best it can be and it makes the mods and plugins unusable

I really doubt R* updated like this just to break mods.

Well, at least not single-player ones like this.

Then why did they break single player? There are other ways to have this update without messing with thousands of mod loving players. I think they just lied when they said they support modding, because they would stab the modding community in the back for any amount of money in a second

That could be true but don't forget, you have two sides in modding. The people who use mods to enhance their game, and the ones use them to exploit GTA Online. To break mods online, you have to break them for SP too because even though the scripthook is designed to shut off scripts during online play, there are some who modify the hook to bypass online deactivation.

you also have the thousands of people that buy the game for the mods sooooooo

You don't just accidentally do something like this.  It is a very targeted attempt to stop script modifications.

That is true, I can agree with no mods in online. But this update wasn't really meant to stop those who abuse mods. If it was, they would've REALLY messed things up

That it is. I wonder why rockstar would do this, if anything mods have helped the game. Sure, some people use mods online, but rockstar should've done something about that a long time ago. They could easily make it so that when online is launched, the game looks in the directory for any incorrect files. But instead, they hurt more people than they help
