I do think you're right, most of first person are just camera modifications. However, there are some animations that can be used only in first person, so just like you, I'm not entirely sure.

The only error I see possible is when the player is selecting the police model they want to play as when they're in the police department (That is if that's how it's going to work, I'm just guessing that's how it'll be since it worked fine in LCPDFR) and the player switches camera mode during that time. Since in LCPDFR the camera was not set to follow when selecting the model, it was in a fixed position, that could cause an error when switching camera mode. But then again, a quick camera override in the script should fix that issue

you mean the "Police Mod" that leaves empty shootouts, dead speeders, & glitched radars. the mod is nice, but was made before the announcement of LSPDFR. i hardly think anything will surpass the godly LSPDFR/LCPDFR.

I agree, that mod is full of bugs and doesn't have enough features. The second that LSPDFR is released, that police mod will be history

i remember newly after GTA V was announced & even released, there were Tank Scripts, 1st Person Mods, GTA V Vehicles, & even to now someone made a GTA O Savage Helicopter & imported it to GTA IV, same with the Laser & Valkyrie. kinda sad how so many people imported/copied GTA V Style gameplay to GTA IV.

HA, like GTA IV could ever be like GTA V.

IS ELS included ? Can you make the red and blue lights flash brighter ? Cop cars with led lightbars are really dim looking

ELS just made the Emergency Lights more realistic, not just the LCPD flashers that just covered the lights. GTA V is fine w/o ELS since the lights look really more realistic. though it would be nice if you could turn on the Sirens & EMS Lights seperately. GTA V PC & Next Gen have better light bars, last gen had really dim lights where red was more of a pinkish red & the blue was very dim.

Could you give us a hint if the mod will be having a countdown like LCPDFR 1.0 or just release it instantly without stating anything?

I doubt it will have a countdown. It's not a big surprise like 1.0 was sort of. Knowing them, there will probably be some little "easter egg" to it.

The LED lights don't bloom at all ! That's not what real police lights look like... I'd say Saints Row had great looking lightbars

Ignore the FIRST Police car

I'm pretty sure the strobe lights already stay on when you exit a vehicle, but this mod lets you leave the engine running: https://www.gta5-mods.com/scripts/realistic-vehicle-controls

Yeah, but, well, given those late news about malware in different scripts mod it's hard to trust third party modders for me now. So, if the devs would include some small features like that in LSPDFR, it would be rather nice from their side...

I think the lightbar animations in GTA V look really good for being vanilla. Don't get me wrong, I've been a very dedicated ELS user in GTA IV since they fixed the door bug, but that's because vanilla GTA IV's emergency lights animations/corona/bloom effects are laughable.

If they include light mode toggling in LSPDFR like they did in LCPDFR, I will keep 5's vanilla light animations. Plus, it'll be easier on the system too with less outside material to render.

True. The vanilla Lights are quite good. Also love the rotators on the Sheriff Units. But i can't get rid of my addicton to a signal master type traffic director.

Much better than GTA IV.

Is this a result of a better mod or better game mechanics to start with?

They could be a bit brighter, but if GTA V works like GTA IV, turning up the "bloom" effect that makes it brighter makes EVERYTHING in the game brighter, i.e. the signs on top of taxis in GTA IV. Unless any sort of ELS for GTA V could just make police lights a little brighter and have different modes without the other problems associated with it, I am perfectly fine with the stock lights by Rockstar. Rockstar gave us a lot to work with like fast-roping SWAT and spike strips, flashlights, etc. that are already in the game.

Well i like the original lights in GTA V, and i think i Will keep it.. I agree that they should be brighter, but i dont want another ELS.. When i used LCPDFR and ELS in GTA IV it keeps crashing the game, and the original lights in GTA IV was bad, so i had to live with it.. But in GTA V i will use the original lights.

SAM: i saw some pictures where a cop is pulling another wounded cop away in a shootout, is this something we would be able to do as players too ?? That would be cool.. :)

That would be very cool to have. We could pull our wounded partner behind cover, and save him without being shot ourselves. I could see how it would be buggy though...
