New, far-better PC can't run?

Featured Replies

Hi guys, I recently bought a new PC to play LCPDFR as well as GTA:V.

I have a clean install of EFLC on Steam, and installed LCPDFR, then ELS 8.5, then car mods (just 2, a basic CVPI + charger for ELS) and the lights were extremely dull, so i wanted to run a ENB. My PC runs GTA IV on all ultra/highest settings at over 60+ FPS with v-sync off, but after installing any ENB the game looks hardly different (still dull lights, even tried Game4Video but lights are dull) or completely crashes when i walk out of my safehouse. Can someone please give me an install order of mods? I don't need a crazy ENB to change the world graphics, just love glowy red and blue lights when i'm playing LCPDFR.

My PC settings:

- NVIDIA GTX 970 4GB
- Intel Core i5 4690K CPU
- 8GB RAM.

If anyone can please help me, i would very much love to get back to playing like i used to on my old PC. These dull lights / crashes won't stop! I just would love to find some nice deep red and blue glowy light settings that work for EFLC. Everyone says get Game4Video, Savior, etc, but it either makes my game crash when i leave the safehouse or the lights are still dull.

Also, just on a side note: When i quit GTA IV, it gives me an LCPDFR error + GTA IV has stopped responding, even though i quit the game, lol. Not a big deal since it's when i quit, but maybe worth mentioning. This PC is definitely strong enough to handle the game i know, but i just need to figure out a nice mod install setup and which graphics mod to get for EFLC specifically to make the lights look great.

Try CryENB. I used it and it was pretty satisfying with very little performance drop on my R9 280. Still ran at about 40 frames, lowest. Try running the medium or normal preset, if you get good frames boost it higher until you like it. One thing the bloom is extremely high, and it's kind of annoying but I think you can tweak it in one of the ini's, unless you like what every ENB does, increase the bloom by 500%, It's pretty blinding.

When you install the ENB try making a new save after installing it, Make sure your video settings are atleast high, otherwise you will get a crash regarding a memory issue. Also try a commandline, many people with great computers can run the game but not without a commandline, it really stabilizes the game. Look up the variables for a commandline.txt or try the one CryENB comes with, I remember I had to do some tweaking first and with certain commands I wouldn't crash anymore. I would send you the one I used but I uninstalled GTAIV once V came out, I can't really play IV anymore, too much hassle to re-install everything and mod it to the max.

If you don't want the extra bloom, sunglare, and high-res stuff then you can try an ENB that was made for ELS, which usually just improves the look of ELS lights and makes them look nicer.

Just my experience, try it for yourself.

Did you try updating to patch 1.0.7.0?

I was under the impression that an updated Steam copy of EFLC is 1.0.7.0.

So if not, then no - where would that be?

And @Sonny236, yes - i've tried CryENB as well, same issues. Dull lights or crash when i walk out of safehouse.

Check your PM's. are you installing the ENB's correctly? Also, 1.0.7.0 is NOT the latest version if you are using EFLC. It differs, you might want to look it up. With GTAIV you would manually have to download patch 1.0.7.0 from rockstars website, you can do the same for EFLC. [1.1.2.0] here incase you aren't already at the latest version.

I tried installing CryENB V3 again, and somehow got it to look decent, but now as soon as the game loads in, LCPDFR quits unexpectedly and logs an error, therefore i can't start. The lights, though bright, look washed out, the red is more of an orange and the blue is more of a white, very bloomy. I'm moreso looking for something with a deep red and deep blue, very glowy. I would even settle for something simple, though - like this: http://storage11.tunefiles.com/files/thumbs/2014/02/20/1392893170b11b7-original-1.jpg

Really unusual, not sure at this point. Since the install is simple, and obviously you did it right if its running, allthough i don't know about lcpdfr crashing due to it.

Best i know really, sorry ;-;.

This install order is the one I have the most success on REGULAR GTA IV using game4video (this assumes you have the correct and updated system dependencies like .Net and visual C++)  I am not familiar with the EFLC directories so I can't troubleshoot your install and what the correct folders are.  There are others who use EFLC that could assist you.

New GTA IV install with latest patches,

ELS 8.5 and install 1 ELS car. (optional;  install simple native trainer if you want to use it)

Test ELS and your keybinds to make sure it is working properly.  Especially if you are using SNT.

Install LCPDFR v1.1,  configure options and load up game to see how stable it runs.

Last step is to install game4video. The latest version may be missing the d3d9.dll file.  Download older version of game4video and copy only that file over.  (best to have it last so no other visual mods overwrite the intended settings.)

And that is it!  You don't need to change any emissive settings or anything else.  Use as is and it will look the same as the pictures from the download page.
