deliberent got a reaction from sjain in Lots of Texture loss, LCPDFR crashingI am by no means positive, but I had this issue repeatedly when I used to play GTA:IV & EFLC with modded cars. Certain cars that are high-poly (Complex structures, detailed interiors, etc.) put more stress on your game when it loads in textures and results in that popping. I'm sure you'll notice a trend of it whenever a certain model car is loaded in/etc.
There really is no way to avoid this at GTA:IV was really, and in all honesty, just an unstable game and will nearly always end up that way if you mod it enough. GTA:V is much more stable.
ALSO: Note I said stress on your game, not neccesarily your computer. I have a pretty good rig similar to yours and, while I maintained high fps always, the texture issues are game-side and unrelated to the performance of your fps.

deliberent got a reaction fromDeactivated Memberin [WIP/REL] MoreCalloutsGreat job so far. I didn't want to flood your mod download page with suggestions, but i'd like to make some (callout-wise).
Will review it after I play it more. :)
As far as suggestions go,
could you create a suspicious vehicle call? Slight variation from what you have already. Perhaps you receive the call, and the suspect is driving around a location and you have to perform a traffic stop and see if anything is fishy. Players could use their plugins (breathalyzer, lspdfr, etc) to do the rest. Just for immersion.
Also, perhaps a Welfare check. This is a call i suggested awhile ago. We go to a house property and a person is in their backyard or driveway, a simple dialogue with a "press y" key to assure their safety, etc. Small, but good immersion in my opinion. Not all calls are criminal.
Thanks so much!

deliberent got a reaction from sheriff chancy in LSPD First Response 0.2a UpdateNot sure if anybody else got the issue; but my computer blocked the file completely once downloaded, stating it as malicious. This has never happened to me from any LSPDFR or LCPD:FR download or update in the past.
EDIT: Tried to go into a setting to see if perhaps it was labeling it wrong, but still unclear why.
It isn't labeled as "Appears malicious" or "Could be" but instead says and confirms that it is malware. This hasn't happened to any update for me or download from the site, ever.

deliberent got a reaction from dbock1989 in LSPD First Response 0.2a UpdateI fully trust the team, I just am worried something could've accidentally snuck in the download.. who knows. My computer blocks it as malicious.
If you are using google chrome, you can press your top-right settings button then "downloads" and then "retrieve malicious file" but then it will tell you that it will harm your computer, no questions asked. And your options to press are something like "Tear my pc up" and "Be safe", lol.

deliberent got a reaction from Sonny236 in Organized Callout SuggestionsI feel like LSPDFR would go greatly with a bit of an organized callout plug-in. What I mean is, we have all of these different unit types to select from (BTW, what is the ASU? Anybody?), and the callouts are the same (as they always have been). I thought it would be cool for any developers now using the API to make callouts to just maybe get inspired to make unit-specific callouts, and if it's not possible for them to be toggled in-game somehow, then to just be able to drop the plugin into the game folder if you know you want to play that particular unit and receive those calls. Some ideas are things like;
FIB -
drive to a waypoint and meet with x client regarding some form of meeting, transport, or investigation (which could be a simulated conversation similar to the CalloutsV plugin that introduced new callouts with the dialogue where the radio would come in at, bottom left). You could select Y or N to choose if you'd like to do that callout. raids/federal warrants (meet up with fellow and local units on a block, roll forward a block on a group of armed/unarmed peds and search them all and check ID, looking for a previously listed name and/or description you were told). DOA -
drug raids/warrants (similar to above, except mostly just different dialogue for roleplay). drug anonymous tips - go investigate vehicle or tagged spot to find out if there are drugged vehicles in city areas (could use the vehicle from the drug mission in singleplayer to be the target drug vehicle if so) IAA -
honestly, i'm not sure on IAA. You could roleplay that they have some tactical force similar to their field agents counterpart in real life, and do more on the investigative side. (I feel like these would be some of the easiest because it is mostly dialogue/radio simulation that could be coded/typed out maybe?) LSHP -
Speeders evaded speed trap call for additional unit on a traffic stop (pull up behind them) suspicious cargo NOOSE -
armed suspects shots fired officer down pinned suspect hostage situation standoff
And of course, just more regular callout ideas:
LSPD -
backup requested additional unit for traffic stop felony traffic stop domestic disturbance (show up, 2 peds, simulated dialogue, press Y to side with x, or N to side with y, other gets cited or arrested) welfare check (visit a home and a ped is in driveway/backyard/enterable building, etc. and tap a key to "speak" and verify ID to assure welfare Possible DUI/DWI suspicious activity (ped is sneaking through backyards/looking at windows/etc. possible burglary)
Everyone who has contributed to LSPDFR and plugins so far, tremendous job! It's far better then I could do in a billion years, i hope these suggestions might just inspire more plugins for callouts or give you additional ideas.

deliberent got a reaction from SlySyringe in LSPD First Response 0.2 BetaAs far as the siren key and police computer key, I just went into GTA V keybindings in-game pause menu and set my horn key to the number 2, so it's located right above the acceleration for me. No other key interference after that. It takes getting used to, but just til another/better solution is found.

deliberent got a reaction from Lee10 in Question About CollegeYou nearly would always go to the university and visit and view things beforehand, such as some basic areas and locations as well as your dorm/housing area. The only exceptions that i've heard of from friends was going to a school in another country or enrolling in a type of community college. (And even then, i've heard of friends doing this on one, maybe two occasions out of all?)
This is just from my experience though, and between what I and dozens of close friends i know did.

deliberent got a reaction from br100x in Sharing my ride-along experience.Hey guys, i don't post much because i mainly play. Anyways, i'm entering my freshman year at the college and just had my first ride-along with the Sheriff's Office here in my city. Was my first time doing anything actually close to that, so it was pretty awesome.
Just wanted to give the basics on what happened and share my experience with you guys. :)
We did the 2p-10p shift, i just got back a couple hours ago. Started out just did a call on a possible DWI but it was GOA as soon as we got to the area, so disregarded.
We then were headed back around patrolling, and a car cut us off nearly 5 minutes in and so the officer i was with yelled "Fu***** serious, man?" and lit him up. Was REALLY hilarious.
Guy pulled over and ended up being just an older man, and he didn't really know what was going on so he was told to pay attention. While wrapping up the traffic stop, we heard screeching of brakes
and voila, what a coincidence. An accident happened directly on the other side of the 4 lane road (with a median in between as well). So the traffic stop ended and we pulled the car to the other side, and stopped traffic. It was a single occupant one-vehicle crash. Was a pretty quick cleanup once the road was shut down and he wasn't hurt. The office let me write the report for practice. Neat!
At this time we got a call from the neighboring county and DPS (I'm in Houston, TX, btw). The DPS and neighboring county was in pursuit of 4 males in a stolen van fleeing down the highway. We hit the lights and sirens and were going about 85 in a 20 mph zone through my neighborhood where i live. Once we caught up to the highway, we still weren't fast enough to intercept so we got up to the speed of 110 on the very left. About 10 miles down we took the exit and found the van along with the other dozens of officers and 3 agencies that ended up being there (HPD now as well). The van's doors were open and you can see where all 4 males bailed. A perimeter was setup between all agencies around this 1.5 square mile block of woods/trees and the roads were blocked off. Guns were drawn. They got K9's and Fox (Houston's helicopter) to all show up on scene. The trees were too thick for the thermal in the sky to pickup the perps, so they sent in the dogs. All 4 suspects were in custody within 5 minutes. 2 were bit by dogs and i was about 5 feet from one when we came over to the road where they came out of the woods at. News crews were there. I saw unmarked chargers and impala's, the helicopter and they also had unmarked plain-clothes units on foot all around with there rifles drawn. This was definitely the peak of the shift and only 2 hours in.
Later on we ended up responding to a male harrassing employees at a resturaunt but this wasn't anything big. Once we showed up he was already gone and supposedly went into the pool hall next door. We got 2 more units and went in and he was found and questioned, and warned with a Trespassing Warning. Also was shown how to look up perps in order to see there full criminal background. Also really cool.
Finished up the night with a major accident where a truck was flipped over. they shutdown the roadways and had to use the jaws of life in order to cut out the passenger that was stuck in the car.
Anyway, i had lots of fun on this. Just wanted to share my experience with you guys.

deliberent got a reaction from Iconography in Would you like it if?That's what i thought!
Another benefit of it, is that if you use this method, then when you get out of cruiser, etc. in-game, you won't be able to hear it. Whereas if you just ran it in the background in a browser or so, you'd have to minimize and turn it down. Just serves as a more realistic and simplified experience, in my opinion. I'll record it! :]
