Dangers of modding?

Featured Replies

So, as far as I know, you can change textures. So what are the dangers of doing this.

Say I changed a texture on the police car and went online, there a possibility of me/others getting banned?

Like does online validate files etc?

Thanks

That's still unknown at this time. We've got some learning time ahead of us before we know the in and outs of how V modding will play out.

I know, but they need to give more detail. Like what mods get you banned?

money money/god modS

Different Car textures textures/models

Types of scripts etc

What any other type of game would ban you for: any type of unfair or cheating advantage on another player(s)

Trainers, aimbots/wallhacks, and even quite possibly the Custom FOV mod, once again a possible advantage.

I'm not sure if rockstar has a specific policy, but you could either ask them via their forums or just avoid any type of mod until it's confirmed.

Okay, I'm thinking lcpdfr you know, private match.

So I'm hoping that won't class as cheating, So you can have custom cars, lights and of course the lcpdfr script.

Bump Quoting Rockstar Support: "

We certainly understand your conceren. We would like to inform you that GTA Online players sought to exploit the game by generating and distributing game-breaking amounts of in-game cash, disrupting the experience for other players.

Those who actively engaged in cheating and exploiting the game in this manner were, however, subject to in-game penalties at our discretion. This may have included being placed in isolated cheater pools or banned from GTA Online altogether.

At this time, you do not need to do anything further and this ticket will resolve on its own. We will continue to issue hotfixes and title updates on an ongoing basis to counter the negative impact this has had on gameplay. We look forward to seeing you Online!

If you have any other queries or concerns, please do revert to us and we will be glad to assist you.

Best regards,"
