Idea for the Traffic Flow mod by Sam

Featured Replies

The mod Traffic Flow is more than amazing, but it has a minor flaw:

If you want to add more than 20 cars to the pool, they don't seem to show up in the game.

Could the responsible people behind this wonderful mod make it possible to add more than 20 cars to the pool?

Thank you!

Just run as many copies of traffic flow as you need.

It's simple, rename the .dll and .ini to TFM1.dll and TFM1.ini, then duplicate those, renaming the new files to TFM2.dll and TFM2.ini and so on.

You can then have 40 slots with two files, 80 with 4, etc etc.

"You tell me exactly what you want, and I will very carefully explain to you why it cannot be."

I tried using that method and it did work. However, I had some random crashing that I never had before. Removed the duplicates and no more crashing. Guess it works for some and doesn't for others.

Visit me on youtube. The most common reason for crashing is user error. Make sure you have the latest RAGE, ScripthookV, ScripthookVdotnet and turn off your antivirus. Make sure you have an up to date gameconfig.xml as well. Use Allbo's plugin troubleshooter to find any errors too.

Make sure that you have the files and .ini's set up correctly, and then make sure that you actually change the .ini values to increase stability.

First, change the random dispatch lines so that only one of the .ini files will handle it, (i.e. set the chance to 999 or what ever in all the other ones)

Secondly, change the timer intervals, so that they are all different.

Thank you for the replies! Will try the duplication out..

But wouldn't it be possible for you to recompile the .dll with a simple integer variable in the .ini file to set the total amount of vehicles in the pool and then randomly generate those into memory according to the number given?

My thoughts exactly. :whistling:

The duplication results in random crashes - Even after fixing all values in all files so they don't "collide"..

Can I put less than 20 in one of the files?

Yes, just leave the ones you don't want blank. The mod will read the blank and do no action for the blank slot.

If I put more than one Traffic Flow, supposing it works, the cars will spawn at different times? I mean for example the first ini's and only first ini's cars spawning during 5 minutes, and the next 5 minutes only the second .ini's cars.

I want to replace the Traffic Load, that makes my game lag with textures, but I want having more than 20 cars...

By the way, if the police cars are not selected in the .ini, they won't spawn?

pretty sure you they won't spawn whether you have ALL 20 slot's filled, just use the new BETA Traffic spawner, supposedly it spawn every police vehicle

woah.. ninja'd by custo, Unr3al and strike &gagahaha oh and Sam
