Officer Uses car to ram suspect [READ]

Featured Replies

If you were in this situation what would you do?

Pull up with other officers a good distance away from the suspect, forming a line between him and the populated area. Take cover behind the vehicles, and order him to drop the weapon. If he fires again or makes any sudden movements with the weapon, fire.

That's standard police procedure.

I would do the same thing. I run criminals over all of the time in LCPDFR. But in all seriousness, I think the officer did the right thing.

  • The cop was just getting some practice in for GTA V

  • Although it looks pretty dangerous, this was probably the best most non-lethal safe option. Good thinking from the Officer.

You don't get to use deadly force unless your life is in immediate danger, none of them were being aimed at that I could see on tape. What I saw was a police cruiser running over a person with his back turned to them. Armed or not, you don't get to kill people because they "might do something". They have beanbag rifles, tear gas, lethal rifles of their own they can use as precision weapons, rather than a 4,100lb battering ram that can't exactly stop on a dime if something steps in its path. I'm pro-law enforcement an all, but police agencies in the U.S. keep f*cking themselves over with bad PR using their own dash cam footage on a weekly basis it seems. Cool your f*cking jets, officers.

As an officer I don't know what I would have did in this situation,  Yes he did fire a gun in the air but then he aimed the gun at his own head. A order was given to the officers to keep their distance , which they should have did until they came up with a plan. The officer said he was " trying to save his life" not at that speed, some verbal command needed to given before you take action unless he was going to harm a officer or someone else. That's just my opinion.
