After spending 5 hours downloading 5GBs (thank you Rockstar for constantly dropping my download rate to 80kb/s), I finally got into the game and played it for a solid 4-5 hours. It looks beautiful and

  • Well, it took me 20+ minutes to get my pre load off 99%. The game looks great although last night it wouldn't let me play online hopefully today I'll be able to.

Well I have to say, it would've been nice if it were possible to lower the Graphics settings more. Despite what the settings tell you, you're pretty much stuck with Very High or Ultra due to some unne

Runs buttery smooth 60fps on my asus with an i7-4700hq and a gtx 765m with 8gb of ram, really surprised to see some others having problems with higher end systems, though not the first time I have seen it happen.

So I remember a Rockstar press release about the PC version having "better" and more traffic, wildlife, etc.  Of course that can mean anything.

So again,  are there randomly patrolling police vehicles doing their own thing?   Not necessarily on a call or arresting anybody.  But just driving around the city.

Well, I'm not impressed at all. You guys going on about only getting 20FPS. I'm lucky if I get 11, even with all the settings on low.

I'll be sending an email to R* asking for my money back until they update if for low end PC's. Total let down.

The most fun thing I managed to do was run a cat over.

Yes, I have seen police cars patrolling around - which surprised me since the 360 version was lacking.

Well, it's playable for me at a reasonable resolution (borderless windowed mode) after spending time in the settings (the game seems to run better with certain higher settings) and adding a few command lines, but I still get stuttering in the city, especially while driving. Not really a change in FPS or the frequency of stuttering between day and night.

I wish you could turn the shadows and reflections completely off like you could in IV; it would improve the performance for people with low-end PCs a lot. I'm not so interested in making the game look great right now.

"even with all settings on low."

Sadly, there's not even a "Low" settings option. The lowest is normal, but because there's so much you can't turn off like speedometers, super reflections, super light rays etc. You're really stuck with either Very High or Ultra. Sigh, perhaps someone will have a mod that allows more proper settings so folks can drop them to an actual Medium or Low, instead of Ultra without AA. Not even joking.
