GPM director Scott Daedaelus has just announced that he has got a mail from Lt. Caine and he's returning back to modding upon release of GTA:V.He'll work on improving the ELS,as well.

... So ... A modding veteran who left over issues with the GTAIV modding returns with the promise of working on GTA V mods - which is literally impossible at this point, but merely a "I am still here, and I will look into the possibilities of the new game" statement ...

I don't feel quite too intrigued, to be honest.

Makes me wonder if he will make ELS V7 and leave it will the same bugs as V6, guess we will wait and see, still got a few month's yet.

It will be nice to see Lt.Caine back on the scene, but who knows when GTA V will be out and how well it's been optimized for the pc. They can't do worse then IV right??

ELS was/is a great mod but it has huge drawbacks that should be completely resolved with Sam's Illumination 2.0. So if Sam can pull it off with Illumination 2.0, it would make sense that it too could be converted for V and if it's resolved the big issues with ELS there really won't be a need for ELS. That being said, I know Lt.Caine wouldn't mind working with anyone including Sam on creating a lighting mod that works for V and doesn't crash the game time and time again. Time will tell, but for right now my eyes are on Illumination 2.0!!

@Topic: This is great news. Lt.Caine made a lot of great models and ELS needs to be reworked. Nonetheless, GTA V is still pretty far away. We'll see how this turns out.

It's always great to see anyone return to the game. Modder or not. I do have a lot of respect for his work and do hope he does return. However any hint he might continue his ELS work I file in the same folder as GTA V release dates.

In short if it happens great, if not then at least I won't have held my breath.

I wonder if Lt.Caine has seen the war and the scars left by it...

Either way its great news if it is really true, Lt.Caine remains the king of the IV modding era and will continue to be the king, lets just hope all this nonsense with banning people for stupid reasons and jealousy will be resolved.

Yay, I missed Caine. He was fun to play with on GTA4 and chat with, when his inbox wasn't full of course.

Glad to see him comming back. Hopfully I will be able to contact him about a few things. No, not ELS related.
