Can I run this program on my Macbook pro? I downloaded the game and am wondering if it's worth even installing LCPDFR as the missions are already laggy... My computer specs are as follows:

Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo

Processor Speed: 2.4 GHz

Number Of Processors: 1

Total Number Of Cores: 2

L2 Cache: 3 MB

Memory: 4 GB

Bus Speed: 1.07 GHz

Boot ROM Version: MBP71.0039.B0B

SMC Version (system): 1.62f6

All PC's have graphics cards, I think?

@OP, do you have a Graphics Card?

If you can already run GTA IV, then you can run LCPDFR.

Unless specified it has one, most PC'S run on a integrated graphics chip which cannot even run minecraft

Processor: Intel i5-6600 @ 3.30GHz

GPU: MSI ARMOR GeForce GTX 1080 OC

Ram: 16GB Skylake

My old laptop had a Intel GMA X4500MHD (59 MB), and it would only let me run games on low with about 10-20 fps with invisible environments. Most laptops have bad cards, and by looking at the OP's other specs, I would assume he also has a weak card.

Plus, you would need to use a Windows virtualizer to even be able to install the game, and that uses up a sum of memory. Trust me, a long time ago, when I first registered, I asked the same question, but the game utterly failed to run.

A couple of things I want to straighten out here:

-Most retail bought computers today do not have graphics cards, this goes for both laptops and desktops. This is because the processor does all the rendering by itself and uses "shared memory" (which is more or less stealing system RAM and using it as graphical RAM) in order to act as a graphics cards. Day to day computing does not require advanced graphics hardware. But anything involving any advanced form of animation, high definition video or complex 3D and 2D rendering will benefit from a graphics card. Most people in this world are Facebook and YouTube users and don't need those sort of things. That's why store bought computers are like that. When a computer device manager or diagnostic file says that you have a Intel GMA X4500MHD 59MB, that translates to Intel Graphics Media Accelerator Model X4500 Mobile High Definition, using 59 megabytes of system RAM. These integrated graphics solutions can take several gigs of RAM if you choose.

-You don't have to visualize games to make them run on a Mac. Macs with Intel-based hardware run on an x86 platform, meaning that you can simply partition the hard drive and install a copy of Windows on it, using something like BootCamp to switch your OS when needed.

I completely agree with you about your explanation of the graphics aspect of most computers. What I meant by "needing a Windows virtualizer" is that he would need to be able to boot both Windows and OSX on the same computer, not necessarily at the same time, though. Since Windows 7 already costs $150, and that's about 25% of what you would probably spend on a prospective desktop to play GTA IV, it's not really worth it. Also, in my experience, Windows seems to read less memory than you actually have. The bottom line here is that you will probably not be able to run the game at acceptable frame rates.

I just wanted to clear somthing up for the OP,

As unr3al stated above, It works, When you do this, You have win 7 on a partitioned disk, and it is a stand alone OS, How do I know this? I'm using it right now .

But due to the OPs Specs, I highly doubt he will be able to get GTA IV running even if he gets Win 7.

Help us, help you!
