Worlds Scariest Police Chases

Recommended Posts

Back in 2001, my favorite game of all time (back when I was a youngen) was "Worlds Scariest Police Chases." The game is based off the old T.V. show, Worlds Scariest Police Chases, and also made by "Fox" (yes, the same company that made the show)

It pretty much started my love for police work, and I wouldnt put this game down for HOURS!!!!! It was for PS1. Check it out:

Anyone else have memories of this game?

It was also based off Driver 3 a little ;)

umad? Driver 3 is a 2004 game, WSPC is a 2001 game so no, WSPC was not based off Driver 3.

Woo! Driver, those were the days  I liked how in each driver it obviously advanced, in driver 1 you cant get out of the car, driver 2 you can get out of the car but u cant run people over, even if somehow u do literally ur car just goes through them, and driver 3 was the most gore like one.

Man, I totally was into it, and heck, sometimes I'll pop it into the PS2 just for the heck of it too! I loved how it was one of the few games where you played a REGULAR uniformed Police officer, instead of a Criminal or an Undercover cop. For the time, it was also one of the best Driving games for PS1 in my opinion, even when it came down to the car's physical model damage, how stuff like bumpers would fall off and such, which games like Driver and Driver 2 from around the same era didn't exactly have. Heck, the stuff the devs put in the game as an extra you can obtain, like Silly Speech mode, as well as other modes that could change how the game was played were pretty awesome. The two player was even more of a plus to the game, as it did encourage teamwork, and good communication skills too! While there have been games that outdid it in terms of graphics, features and such, this is one of the things I haven't really seen done much since.

A bummer they canned the second game for PS2 after FOX Interactive got sold. Would have been fun to see what they would have had, maybe even licensed cars for a change instead of the generic ones they had as well!

Of course, I always consider LCPDFR to be the "game" that people who grew up, and loved World's Scariest Police Chases would have been joyed to see had they released the 2nd game.
