I'd say it depends on the situation, however for me, It's safer and quicker to attempt to diffuse the situation..... as an EMT responding to calls in South Buffalo... aka "a not so nice place"..... I've been unarmed dealing with people holding guns, knives, glass bottles, anything they can use as a weapon.... just because they don't like seeing flashing lights and two people in uniform walk up......  and I haven't gotten hurt because I use a professional and courteous approach.

Now does that mean I haven't had to tackle both men and women? NO!! but TACKLE is different than HIT, in my opinion, there's always a better solution than hitting a patient/suspect/attacker, what have you...

In a legitimate act of self-defense, it doesn't matter if it's a man or a woman. And if it's simply violence toward another person, that's obviously wrong, but usually is treated as a crime far worse

Depends on the circumstances. If the situation legitimately calls for it, then yes. If I could handle it without hitting the person (man or woman), then I'd prefer to do it that way.       I think

Here's my view on it: If someone throws the first blow, they have revoked their right to simply walk away and use of force to the degree deemed necessary to defend myself is justified - whether it's

As has been said above, there really shouldn't be any hitting in the first place. If it comes down to it, I don't really see why not. If it is self-defence and you have a legitimate reason to hit back, go for it. Is it morally right? Perhaps not, but it is within your rights. I think it boils down to what kind of person you are. I personally do not think I'd hit anyone back. I'd defend myself, but not fight back.

My opinion, if a woman poses any type of assault (sexual, physical etc) then I don't see why not, like I always say, keep your hands, feet and spit to yourself and there will be no problem.

Not to go off topic but sometimes that sexual assault can be a good thing, as it was for me lol.

Exactly what I was thinking.  The only time I'm won't hit someone is if they break into my house, then you'll get shot, in the ass.

Correct. Very interesting how some women want equality, but not absolute equality. If you come into my home you're getting shot, no questions asked. You shouldn't be in my home, the one place I feel safe.

Some women even expect a guy to stand there and take a beating while she hammers away at his body, as if it's open season. Man or woman, you hit me you're gonna get put into some serious shit. I don't care, not gonna stand there and get helplessly beaten. I refuse to be the victim. Plus it wouldn't get to that point, I'd leave or call the cops beforehand.

Let's not venture further off-topic.

Yes, my lord.

What if she had a knife to your throat.

I was waiting for an answer like that..

What exactly would you plan to do about it if she did have a knife to your throat? you going to slap her around before she slices it?

Fuck yes times 10. I'm not gonna sit there and have my neck sliced open just to follow some contradictory morals. If you are threatening my general safety, I'm gonna whoop your ass on the spot, man or woman. I don't care what anyone thinks of it, I'm not going to die just to not hit a woman.

The world really isn't that black and white. It all depends on the circumstances, you can shove someone away and run, you can try talking, you can try numerous things that doesn't involve, and I quote "whoop your ass on the spot".

Don't need luck, I'd have the law on my side. :)

I'm not the type of person to back down from a fight. If you try to act big with me, you can expect me to act big with you. My first decision isn't to be violent, it doesn't always need to be that way; But if you clearly aren't up to par for having a civilized conversation on the issue, I'm not going to hold back.

Edit: And on top of that, if it's already to the point where I feel that my life is in DANGER, then there is no more talking. You've made yourself clear by escalating it up to that point.
