Allowing vehicles to have more that one skin.

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

I have a vehicle modded in GTA and in the texture file, there is only one skin slot. Is there any way I can make it so there are more slots?

I'm not trying to change the skin, but expand how many the vehicle has as at the moment I currently can only have 1.

Cheers,

Tom

How complicated would that be?

Editing the model? Actually quite easy, you'd have to make sure the skin's material is called "vehicle_generic_smallspecmap paint3 [CLR:1]" (which is mostly used) and the second texture (which is the paintjob) has the _sign_1 ending.

Nope, The skin files are called "gta_paintjob" and as far as I'm aware the model is locked.

Got it! I was in the same situation when I was a fresher here.Just like you,I created a topic in this section and asked for help asking the same question as you are.I don't remember who answered me,but in the end I had to abandon my single-paintjob CVPI because it didn't support multiple liveries.Good ol' days! LOL

I would abandon my CVPI but the problem is that it's the only one I have ever seen with this lightbar. I'll post a screenshot later to see if anyone else knows of one.

Strange enough.

I'm currently using a CVPI by Bugz (one of the first CVPIs ever to be made for GTA:IV) and it looks really similar to yours (except the clothes, which I believe you can change for yourself). And I hope you prefer non-els versions like me,as well.It supports multiple liveries as well as multiple rambars.

Interested?

I'm not the biggest fan of non-els but i'll give it a shot for sure :)
