Add a callout to where you request backup and they arrive to help you. In other words reverse the scenarios :)

Might be easy'er said then done.  We all know how AI can be with driving...

Think EMS or Firetruck... I'm sure you've got some kind of memory where they completely destroyed your scene...

I'm not saying I ain't doing it.  As a mater of fact, I'm debating switching over and attempting this also so instead of a API Callout for Backup, I could make a entirely new script where the player can call for backup.

I've yet to start testing, but I've learned A LOT about GTA IV native calls and LCPDFR API stuff from this.

This coming weekend I might give coding for Backup a break, and switch over to seeing if I can get AI to smoothly drive up and park behind you - that being the only true barrier... because there are a lot of situations that could easily make them go crazy in terms of not being able to drive to a certain location.

I'll most likely keep polishing Backup for this week, see where I get it (for example, I want to add better animations for when the AI just writes a ticket).

Awesome. Also could you try to create a callout where you arrive for backup on a domestic dispute or a warrant bust. You get a call of a domestic dispute between a man and a woman, the man has a gun and backup is needed before you guys make the bust and arrest.

That wouldn't be all that hard.  The worst part would be driving around collecting the static locations so I have enough to blanket the entire map >_<

But in terms of scripting something like that, it would be pretty straight forward because Backup has given me a wide exposure to all the tools (well, not all) but a good bit of the tools I have to accomplish my goal.

Not saying you'll see this in the near future.  I've got a list going honestly of what I want to create, and that list... its growing faster then these fingers can type. ;D

PS V1.18 JUST uploaded.  Have to update OP now.

Hmm... Weirdly, I get an "operation failed" error when trying to extract 1.18 AND 1.14. I don't think this problem is on your end, but I figured it worth noting. Is there another way I can grab this?

Are you using 7z to open the file? No one else has reported any problem. Just Google 7z, its a free program thats used. If you, and its not the issue, I can upload them to another source perhaps.]

Im getting a lot of disregards again with 1.18. It may be my system, as I just threw in LSPD female cops, but after the disregard, the blue circle remains... Not game breaking by any means, just odd that it doesnt despawn. Still I think its one of the best callout scripts I've ever played!

Well I was using WinZip and WinRAR to do it, but I'll give that a shot. Thanks for the info. I wound up getting the files from a buddy of mine anyway! :)

The second you expand this to Alderney I don't think I'm ever gonna use any other callouts lol.

Hmm.

Mind PM'ing me with additional details?

When does the disregard happen?  (Right away, after accepting?)

Does it happen every time?

Does anything else not de-spawn (vehicles depending how far you made it into the callout?)

Its most likely just something I missed clean up wise because I don't crash during this phase, or none of my testers reported it.

I'll try to keep that in mind next time I jump into the code.

First off - thanks for this!  Most people seem to want to put it in the reviews section of the download.. ;D

Secondly - I'll have to look more into this one.  Its the first time someones send me a null ref in regards to a heading.  Does this happen often?  Sometimes?  Rarely?

I'll make sure I pad the heading values to guard against this in the next few days when I get some free time.

This happens very often when I accept the callout. While my LCPDFR is crashed I'd drive to the scene where it would spawn. The guy that was pulled over would be there, but the cop and the cop car aren't there (I'd just blow up what is there via grenade xD). Sometimes when I pull up on scene it would say the plugin shut down due to an error, the cop would get back in his car and take off, so would the guy that was pulled over, he'd take of like normal as well.

Would the # of liveries on a car effect the callout performance at all?

I cant say for sure. I know its very vehicle dependant in nature, so anything iffy in terms of spawning, could cause issues. Change ALL the police models to something you havent messed with IM ONLY TALKING ABOUT ALTERING THE VEHICLE NAMES IN THE INI FILE FOR THIS CALLOUT, NOT YOUR GAME FILES. (to a stock car, and model) and let me know the result?

Alright, I'll try this tonight and get back with the result.

Since I have messed with all of them except the stockades, what I did is I switched the fbi slot back to the original car in GTA IV (I have an entire backup of my original GTA IV unmodded). I switched all the car models in the .ini file to FBI as shown below:

The test trials were made once I got setup for my ped model and car ELS settings. I started the callout by typing "startcallout backup" in the panel.

Trial 1

The first trial was a City Police call for backup, I responded and when I rolled up on scene.... I found that it spawned my "Police" vehicle and not the FBI that was written in the .ini as shown below along with another cut from my LCPDFR.log, when I rolled up the callout also shutdown due to an error:

Note: I didn't reloadscripts afterwards.

I thought then maybe it was the car I was driving so I switched to the original fbi car and tried again. I typed "startcallout backup" into the panel again and responded like normal. What I found I thought to be quite interesting. When I arrived I didn't get an error, the person that was pulled over was there. However, the cop car was there but no cop and the lights were not activated as shown below:

Any luck fixing the set_heading bug? I'm also getting that error

This is my main task for this callout once I get some more time.  I'm going to be revamping how the police car is spawn'd in - for some reason, for some users, it causes a issue.

logov1_zpsd8d8fbe3.jpeg

Help my channel grow and I can explain to my wife why this addiction to coding is a good thing!

Not sure if anyone posted this before but whenever I get "Disregard" (after accepting) I crash because of ELS. I currently have this issue where if ANY els car is deleted/despawned I instantly crash with SMPA60. Therefore, if a scenario spawns but despawns due to bad placement, I crash. Making this mod indeed have a VERY low success rate. The one time I got it to work was pretty well done in my opinion, and I would love to continue trying this but uh..yeah, i had to uninstall it due to this issue that plagues me. And I might sound stubborn but no I will not disable ELS for the AI, I can't stand non ELS cars or those default static lights.

EDIT: I noticed a slight bug, when the officer gets out from checking the AI's license, he'll get stuck on something invisible and be knocked back 3 or 4 times. Then he seems to fix himself, just looks silly.

I've seemed to lower my crash rate by forcing the callout and waiting about 4 seconds or so, usually if it doesnt disregard on its own before I accept it then I'm good and I won't crash. But it still happens other than that. Maybe have a debug mode or extra option allowing the user to disable the copcar that spawns ELS lights, I'd be fine rolling up with the copcar not having his lights on, Atleast I wouldn't crash :P. and then I wouldn't have to turn off ELS alltogether.

Besides that, I've gotten a pretty steady success rate. I love the mod! Continue developing it please :D, I can't wait for new features.

you should look into making more actual callouts, something similar to Callouts+ or WoutersCallouts (Before it broke and was abandoned), that would be awesome.
