Just going to leave this right here.

And I didn't even have to go to different forum topics to find all those.

BTW, never said that I hated anyone. No need to put words in my mouth.

Oh well what do you know, I did say those things.

Have you proven your point now, are you satisfied?

Removed? No, definitely not.   It does need some serious guidelines though. I'm sick of seeing half assed copy and paste news articles that only spark tensions between members.

What I mean by this is put some bloody effort in. Don't just directly copy bits of it and leave a link. I'll use one of CriminalKillaz's threads and one of mine as an example. And no, I'm not trying t

  • Not a fan of the Politics board currently. It'd be nice once in a while, but it's just a bunch of spammy news articles from Yahoo about very delicate topics that really serve no use being debated (i.e

If you don't expect to have a mature informative debate, then why post?! I think your probing 13ubba's point.

Not expecting something doesn't mean that it's certain it won't happen. I'm not a genius, and neither is anyone on this forum, and sometimes people here forget that.

I make the assumption that any debate I enter will become a retarded mess, but I could be wrong. I could enter a debate and it be an immensely intelligent and educated one. I can't tell the future, so the only way to find out is to join the debate. This is the only forum I've ever been apart of that has such aggressive debates.

Edit: Another thing I also notice here that's quite funny would be the "likes". The number of people that just blindly "like" a response simply because they dislike me and what I'm talking about is hilarious. I think nothing of it, but humor.

That is just another assumption you are making. Don't act like everyone is out to get you. Maybe they liked the post because they agree with it, might not have anything to do whether or not people like you. I have liked posts of people that I usually disagree with. If I agree with a post or think it is funny then I will like it, has nothing to do with what I think of a person.

Well, yes I have proven my point.

Right, but let's not allow political correctness to blind us from common sense and blatancy. You can't sit there and tell me that nobody on the forum dislikes me, and does anything possible to go against me.

No I can't prove that isn't true, but neither can you prove that people are out to get you and just follow you around liking posts from anyone who disagrees with you. Not everything is about you.

Though it's usually the same few people that "like" posts that go against me, is the part that I find very interesting. Even if I prove that person 100% absolutely wrong, they still do it. It's more of a pet peeve than anything, though I don't really care about it in the long run.

Not everything is about me is somewhat accurate.

Well I have yet to see anyone get proven 100% wrong about anything in these sorts of posts so I'm not sure what you are referring to. I have noticed it is the same few people who are active in these forums outside of the modding section, so when you have a limited number of people who participate in these topics you are going to see the same names pop up. Just like you see my name, Pavelow's name, Illusionary's name all the time, that is because it is the same people who participate in these topics. I just think it is funny that you think it is because they just don't like you and don't even consider the fact that it might be what you are saying.

Well, some of the worst insults I've ever received has been here on LCPDFR.com. I can easily point out an example of what I mean.

I created a topic on Islamic terrorism. I stated that the Qu'ran commands Muslims to commit acts of terrorism, but not all Muslims are terrorists. People misunderstood and though that I said all Muslims are terrorists. No matter the number of times I explained what I meant, people still just didn't get it. This topic as well, when I said that I don't care to write a descriptive paragraph because I don't have the time. People misunderstood and thought I said that I don't care about the topic. I had to repeat my opinion 4 times, and the 4th time in a very blatant form. Still there are people that believe I don't care about the topic. Is it that they're just dumb, or do they simply dislike what I'm saying is the part I'm trying to figure out.

Ok.....I'm sorry people insult you on here.

I guess I worded what I meant poorly. It isn't that I think you don't care about the topic, it is that I think you don't care about having a civilized conversation about the topic. You post things and say that you don't care what anyone else says, you are not going to change what you believe but want to continue probe at people and leave inflammatory comments. To me that just looks like a troll, you might care about the topic but I think you just like seeing people get riled up about things you say.

I don't expect an apology from you because of insults, I don't care what people say about me in reality, so the internet is a joke.

I will admit that I do find a crude sense of humor in getting people hyped over the internet. A few years back I got someone so angry that they uploaded a YouTube video of them throwing their flat screen TV at the wall. I could barely stand the entirety of that discussion.

But getting back on-topic, even if I am not willing to change my opinion, I'm willing to be open-minded to opposing opinions. I like to hear what others have to say on the matter.

But anyways

Not expecting something doesn't mean that it's certain it won't happen. I'm not a genius, and neither is anyone on this forum, and sometimes people here forget that.

That attitude, is what is getting people annoyed at you right now. Why would you even post a topic on this site, expecting it to become "a retarded mess"? That's asinine and ignorant. It makes you a troll. I go into every debate hoping to either successfully prove my point, or actually learn something that maybe I didn't know and change my views. On this site, it does go to shit, I'll give you that.

They're aggressive here because, as I've already stated, a lot of people here aren't even out of school yet (It is hard to debate gay marriage in the US with somebody who hasn't even taken the basic Government class in HS). I3ubba and cp702(?) are the only 2 that I can think of that can debate well. Most of the people on this site just spew a second hand opinion they heard from a biased news source, and claim it as their own ( AKA we have a lot of 'Waterboys' on this site). This is why I pick and choose what topics to enter. I go into a topic that I know I'm able to debate in, intelligently, unlike a lot of people on this site.

When you decide to post an article that you know will turn into a flame war, and go into it assuming that it's going to turn into a retarded mess, then why are you here? You are a troll.

You didn't read the rest of the sentence, quite common on the Internet. My assumption is irrelevant and means nothing. I can assume that I will be hit by a speeding car tomorrow, but that doesn't mean that I won't go outside. "What if" and assumptions are why rules and laws exist. What if that person DOES murder someone? What if someone DOES drive on the wrong side of the road? Again I will say that this is the only forum where topics I post start a flame war. When I post a topic here, I assume it will start a flame war because it usually does. I have posted topics where I assumed it would turn into a mess, and I was wrong. It's not the topic, it's the people participating in the topic.

The biggest issue here is that I'm being misunderstood, which is very common on LCPDFR.com. Maybe I'm wording my stuff terribly.

And you are right, I should stop creating topics and participating in topics that clearly won't end well. Which is why I said earlier that I will no longer be posting random news articles, only articles on massive international issues and world problems that I know we can get a decent discussion out of. I won't apologize for posting previous topics, because it's the Internet and who gives a fuck at the end of the day, really. But what I said stands, I'll be less active in the politics section.

Edit: Another thing I also notice here that's quite funny would be the "likes". The number of people that just blindly "like" a response simply because they dislike me and what I'm talking about is hilarious. I think nothing of it, but humor.

Are you serious when you say that? Because this thing has a name, it's called Paranoia. I (and probably 99% of the people here) like a post when it is funny, relevant or that it expresses my point of view on a topic. Just because -you- are involved I should restrain myself of liking something? I like the posts on this topic because they are totally relevant and true to me.

I think what pavelow is trying to say is you cannot always assume that it will be a flame war when you start a topic, that's not fair and you have to assume that there will be a mature debate going on as well. Also it's not just the people, it can the very topic itself and the name of it may offend people, remember my "favorite war topic" and people were offended by the name of it? My bad wording made it seem though, but I haven't done that ever since.

In my opinion, removing the politics board would be harmful to free speech on this forum, because users of different ideologies, beliefs, or values can share their ideas on anything. Getting rid of it would make the sharing of opinions difficult. In short, the politics board has to stay.

I would agree with you but the moderators said that we don't have the freedom of speech here. We're required to abide by all forum rules regardless.

Alrighty, I think the thread has pushed well past its expiration date now that we're approaching the personal attack phase.

No, we won't be removing the politics section, though we'll likely step up the rule enforcement in that section and get a bit more strict with what's not allowed.

Nothing to see here!
