For most people, you have to have a moderator approve the file before it's updated which results in it being taken off from the downloads until a moderator approves the file/update.

  • I didn't take it down. A buddy of mine contacted me because he wanted to add his YouTube video to the download. So, I added the video and it is currently awaiting approval.

How do you mean when mods are up they get taken down? you click on a link and it brings you to an error page? if so, that is most likely because they creator has given a link to a mod that is waiting approval.. if you click on it a few hours later i will work.

However the modder can request for his mod to be removed and it will. so that might have happened also. Any particular mod you're talking about?

I don't think that the creator of the modification would take down their download just to update it.

When a file is updated (or completely new), it is taken down for moderator review. As far as I know, the old file does not remain. A few people uploaded content that they did not own, and as such the mod had to be taken down. A few other people do not want their mod up, and so, we take it down. Those are the only reasons I can think of.

Invenio, Investigatio, Imperium

If you upload a file, have it approved and then update that same submission for whatever reason, it will require approval again.

This actually is not always true; it depends on the uploader's choice.

The old file can be removed or replaced in an update, or the uploader can choose to put both the new and old versions up.

No it won't, if you are updating the mod.
